What is this winning that's been going on?

Vernon will probably be back at the all-star break.

Let's not get TOO excited. After all, we're beating up on the Royals. I know they're a little better this year but well...They're the same old Royals to me.

Blue Jays outfielder Vernon Wells, who broke his left wrist May 10, took fly balls before the game Saturday and said he'll be going to Class-A Dunedin to continue rehabbing on Monday. Expected to miss at least six weeks, Wells removed a soft cast Friday before doing the outfield work Saturday. ``It just felt a little weak,'' Wells said. ``I'm not used to my hand getting tired from squeezing the glove a few times. I'm going to continue to try to push it as much as possible without setting myself back.'' - From TSN

Good win tonight, nice to see the big slam by Wilkerson. Solid D by Inglett showing no regard for his body with a couple nice catches in left. Still would like to see more hits with RISP, though, stranded a lot of guys today.

The real life Jays are improving their RISP just as my Jays in The Show are watching theirs plummet.

It's always nice when KC comes to town, but this west coast trip coming up is a huge one. I don't know if its actually the case but it seems like the Jays get mauled on a west coast swing on an annual basis. It's also going to be interesting to see how they do, and it also looks like the Yankees are heating up and the Jays go to the Bronx after the Angels series.

If they're going to get mauled it might as well be on this West Coast trip since it's still relatively early on. As for the Yanks heating up let's bear in mind they're killing the Mariners who are a team lost at sea without a rudder to pull them back to land.

Besides, good pitching always beats good hitting and this is one of the strongest rotations in Jays history.

Yes it's true about the Mariners I usually end up watching the Mariners games to see the teams they play, if I were a Mariners fan though the team would be unwatchable. It's pretty amazing how bad the Yanks rotation has become, considering Mussina is the wins leader right now.

I do think that this series of games on the road trip could with a positive result determine a lot about how the Jays fare going forward, sure it won't crush them, but a few games over .500 coming home to Seattle and Baltimore would be ideal.

OK guys the O's look to be dropping back to earth. If the Jays can continue to win then we could see a VERY interesting race down the stretch this year. I think the Yankees bats will bail their pitching out a lot so they'll be in contention. The one X-Factor is Tampa Bay. They could either ride this wave of success all the way to the postseason ala Colorado last year or hit a brick wall in the dog days ala that Royals team that Tony Pena managed that one year.

I'm hoping for the latter then we could see a dogfight between the Jays and Yankees for the WC spot. It sure as hell isn't going to come from the Central and I'm not too sure about the West but the Angels/A's will be lurking in there. If the Jays can get just a little more consistency from the bats then I think they're set up pretty nicely thanks to their deep pitching staff.

We'll just have to see how it goes.

Heck, the Jays are only 4 games out of the division lead right now with a ton of games against all division opponents left. Come up big in those games and we could see another pennant.

Good question, at least the Jays are whupping the Royals' collective arses.

Because Sportsnet would rather show Connected AM repeats and lame "extreme sports" shows than live baseball.

So Blair was on the roundtable today and made some interesting comments regarding the trade deadline. He thinks the Jays have AJ on the market so all any team would have to do is call JP up.

He then made remarks on if the Jays are about where they are right now at the trade deadline then if a suitor is REAL creative they can get Roy Halladay His reasoning is Roy may not want to sign another long term deal and be known as the best pitcher on a 3rd place team throughout his career.

If the Jays are in the same place now as at the deadline I don't think there's any way Halladay goes anywhere. Between 3 and 4 games out at the deadline seems to me like the kind of challenge Halladay would love, forget the fact that you would be essentially mailing it in if you dealt him.

I won't support this team for a while if we trade Doc.

Already I despise JP and Godfrey with a pasison. I don't need any more incentive.

The player to trade was Wells. Instead they made the mistake in giving him big money when he's never strung together 3 straight good seasons in a row.

Well Blair said it's the least likely move but he's thinking long term. halladay's contract runs til 2010 so there's plenty of time for the Jays to assess his situation. Blair's thinking that Adam Lind may be the one dangled in trade talks with maybe one of the young pitchers we have if it means getting a big bat.
