I'm done with this team. The next time I post in this or any other Jays thread will be the day JP is fired.

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Well, McGowan goes today and at least he can win a 1-0 game...
But seriously, though, things have fallen so far that Wilkerson and Mench are the answers to our offense? We probably only save ~$1 million (maybe a little less) with them plus Stewart than if we had Johnson. While I'm not in the whole "we killed our team by cutting Johnson" bandwagon, I'm pretty sure if JP had a crystal ball and saw Stew hitting .220 instead of .300, he might have made a different choice.Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
I know I said I wouldn't comment until JP's gone but Wilner must've gotten some bad info as he only said it would be 2-10 days.
I know JP and Godfrey are going to point to this injury as a scapegoat but damnit, SOMEBODY'S GOTTA TAKE THE FALL!
It's like Ted Rogers is the ultimate absentee owner. At least with MLSE they take an active role in the running of their franchises (even it means running them to the ground) Rogers needs to step up and clean house by the end of this season.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Yay rotoworld
"We could be witnessing the beginning of the end for J.P. Ricciardi here. Wells will miss 6-8 weeks, forcing the Jays to put Alex Rios in center. Brad Wilkerson (now worth picking up in AL-only league) and Kevin Mench figure to platoon in right, so the team will have to keep going with Shannon Stewart in left and Matt Stairs at DH, which is how it was typically arranged before the Jays tried to shake things up with the addition of the two veteran outfielders. Adam Lind stays in Triple-A, and the Jays have about killed his trade value by showing no confidence whatsoever in him. Toronto is already in last place, and things look bleaker than ever now. Manager John Gibbons will probably go first, but this is ultimately Ricciardi's responsbility and he should have paid with his job some time ago."Blue Jays, Blackhawks, AuburnComment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
This team couldn't contend in any division in the AL, it's time to clean house and start over. If they do it now the team might start to look better in time for the 20th anniversary of their last playoff appearance.Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
The thing that gets me is that, before the injury spat, this team had the talent to be at the top easily. But they, to a man on the offense, are underachieving completely. I don't want to blow up the talent, but how about blow up the front office? Maybe the coaching staff excepting Arnsberg, too...Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
My dream idea (it's not going to happen) Lure Beeston out of retirement to be President, fire JP and re-hire Gord Ash. Ash would do a very good job with the Rogers money in his pocket. I was thinking of hiring Larry Bowa as manager but I made the statement in the DJF comments section and was reminded of the situation with Rolen but i'd like to see someone of Bowa's type in there. The thing that gets me is that, before the injury spat, this team had the talent to be at the top easily. How is the Yankees farm system these days? They could surely be made to wildly overpay for Halladay. By the time the Jays are ready to contend in the division again Doc will be retired anyway.Comment

I will be very sad if Roy is traded. But it might be the best thing for this team.Comment
