Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!

I'm starting to wonder if there's something wrong with Ryan he started off VERY shaky this afternoon. At least he got the job done. I'm also surprised that the Jays record for most games won in a row is 11. This has been a pretty consistently good franchise. One would think they'd have ripped off a 15 gamer at some point.

You got to love the calmness and composure of this team under Cito. If this game was played with Gibby as manager I don't think they would've been able to hang on for the victory. I mean, two, TWO Johnny Mac errors!

      LET'S GO BLUE JAYS!

Stat of the Day: The last time through the rotation the starters have allowed a combined 1 earned run. They're on a hot streak like earlier in the season when the ESPN "experts" were hyping them up.

Yup hopefully the bats wake up tonight because we're probably bound for a bad start.

Litsch has been pretty good since his recall and the Sox are starting a guy making his first start. Hopefully we can pile some runs on early and let Litsch just go out and relax. Man, as much as my brain says we are done it sure would be something to roll off an insane winning streak and make things interesting.

            We're done, but 13-6 to 90 wins. That's a nice goal.

Well, its officially time to cheer for Tampa, as we're 7 back of them with 7 left to play against them.

Take it one day at a time etc, but win tomorrow and hope that you can get wins from Burnett/Halladay + one of the scrubs in Boston.

Time to cheer for Boston? Do you mean cheer for the Rays? Because if the Red Sox win we could win for the rest of the year and not make the playoffs.

Also I read my prediction from the start of the year, where I said if the Jays get 110 starts from Halladay/Burnett/Marcum/McGowan they will make the playoffs.

Right now we're at 101, and on pace for...

                      110

                      Weird.

You know this is one Surge I approve of

There's something very eerie about watching this team. They've taken on the personality of Cito and his staff very quickly. I notice the starters often sit together and seem to have their heads in the game while the other guys seem to be studying the game. There was a nice shot tonight of Wells, Rios and Tenace going through what I assume is the "hitting book". You know the book with stats on the pitchers and their tendencies etc etc.

Every time the Jays scored they showed shots of the dugout and the guys were calm to the point of almost being bored. The very kind of professionalism and calmness that Cito's teams had in the early 90s.

I know wins in September are meaningless and can often deceive but I dunno, there's just something about what's going on now that gives me unbridled optimism for next year.

Man, too bad we just fell a little short here today. Doc was very un-Doc-like today and we just couldn't quite bring it all the way back. I was encouraged by the comeback, though. Even though it fell short it showed some kind of resiliency we haven't seen in a while. Hopefully the Rays can edge the Sox and we can stay 7 back with those 7 games vs the Red Sox still to come. Very disconcerting is our sudden lack of defense with 2 3-error games here in the past week.

I have nothing further to add except about the defense....

                            BRING BACK BOB BAILOR!!

Ok not really, I always thought he was kinda useless anyways.

I hate to sound like someone who's criticizing the manager even though he won 10/11, but Lyle Overbay needs to start against LHP. The man is on fire. Jose Bautista is not on fire.

Whatever...we need to win 4/5 at worst.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but it worked out yesterday and you know Cito loves to stick with a winning lineup.
