After seeing those HRs allowed by the bullpen I cursed at my TV and sighed.
It looks like the 'pen is about ready to go on a slump.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
So much to say in a game like this one. I don't know why Gibby went to Tallet in the eighth inning when guys like Carlson have been so good in that situation. I can't say I disagree with bringing in Benitez because he has been pretty good, today just wasn't his day. And, to cap it all off, runners on 2nd and 3rd with NONE out in a two run game and all you can get is one. You don't even need to get another hit to score some runs, but we still couldn't get them both in. It's a good thing Wells is gonna be back soon, becuase the offense needs a serious jolt right now.Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Tons of roster moves today. Wells and McDonald off the DL, Hill to the DL, Wolfe recalled, Inglett optioned, and Benitez DFA. Glad to see Wells and Mac back, although I'm sorry to see Inglett go. If it was up to me (which, fortunately, its not) I would have DFA'd Mench and kept Inglett around. Looks like Stewart may need to go DL, though, so Inglett might be back.Comment

The more I listen to the radio broadcast the more I want to see Ashby doing colour on TV.
Oh well...Let's hope Stewart isn't hurt too bad. It does look like he'll be on the DL though.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Wow, what a stinker this one is. AJ wasn't sharp at all, and the ump really squeezed him which didn't help things. If this team is gonna climb back into this thing they obviously need the pitching back at the level it was at earlier, the offense is not going to carry this team even with Wells back.Comment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Ugh, I wanna forget this series already.
I'm probably going to draw up a scorecard for the next game. It's a hobby of mine, and I figure with Doc on the mound, the lineup shouldn't have to worry about the top of the innings so they can focus on the home halves.
Unless the O's get to Halladay early and burn him out before his usual time.
I hate scoring losing games. I just get bored.
EDIT: Never mind, my printer is apparently out of ink.Last edited by Doran; 06-08-2008, 11:45 AM.Fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple LeafsComment

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Nice comeback today right after giving up the lead. I like the fact that the Jays recognized they were struggling a bit to score runs and manufactured a few with the double steal and the sac fly. Also nice to see that VW looks perfectly healthy with that bomb he drove to left to key the rally.Comment

Yep that was a gutsy win but i'd like to see more wins like that. Let's see how they do against Seattle.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Actually get to watch this one in HD on the FSN affiliate, the Jays really need to win this series, the Rays have a tough stretch coming up and appear to be experiencing some growing pains right now.
I didn't see the Burnett start but the guys on ESPN were talking about him gesturing to the fans, what was that about?Comment

I think it's time to write off this season. They're nothing more then a .500 club. Oh well, at least it'll hasten the departure of JP.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Your 2008 Toronto Blue Jays!
Man, screwed in the ninth and then shot themselves in the foot in the tenth. The umps made themselves a factor in the ninth missing the clear balk and calling Inglett out on strikes when he didn't even come close to going around. Then Frasor comes in and can't throw a strike to save his life to give up the run. And how on earth do you not even score once when you load the bases with none out?! Rediculous.Comment

They had their chance to prove their mettle coming off a successful road trip and they fell flat, same story losing to teams they should beat.Comment

I was watching this at the gym with 2 other dudes...
Some dude was telling me, we flat out deserve to lose. And it is as simply as that. How many runners did we leave on base in the 9th an 10th? Ten all together?
Pathetic.Comment
