Agreed. I think we should just grin and bear it this year, unless some incredible offer comes that slants heavily our way.

If Francouer goes, it better not be for a washed up OF'r. I understand the trade market isn't in high demand for him, but you can't give him up for a guy like Guillen who's a headcase, in his 30's, making lots of money. I'd honestly rather just have Jeff out there...

I doubt it too now that we lost, I was thinking we were going to win the game (if Bennett wasn't pitching) and the momentum from the win combined with the Cox/Chipper ejection could have easily propelled this team into some kind of winning streak. It has happened before in the past but since Bennett blew the damn game we can probably forget about it.

I think if a Matt Holiday-type is hitting cleanup it would really bolster the lineup as he hits for average, has a high OBP and has good gap power. Plus, it would put Mac at the 5 hole (where he's better suited), and Garret, Kotch, Frenchy hitting 6-7-8 which is where they should be (obviously pending if they kept Frenchy)...not to mention when Infante comes back.

It does seem like he's having an off year but I attribute that to the horrible lineup the A's have and the fact he changed leagues. It took a while for Garret Anderson to get acclimated to the NL but he's really been scorching the past couple of weeks.

Regardless, that line of thinking is pretty much a fantasy though b/c Beane's gonna be asking for the entire farm back for just one player, and as I said previously I doubt Atlanta could take on his full salary or even get the A's to eat the remaining part.

Big win tonight. Another chance for a W tomorrow against a struggling Wang.

Another win for Hanson last night. It's always nice to beat the Yankees but to shut them out is even sweeter. It would be nice to get some occasional production from our 7 & 8 hitters though. It's getting to the point where it's like having 3 pitcher spots batting at the bottom of the order. Frenchy looks lost out there.

Why doesn't Bobby play Prado instead of Johnson? Prado is a potential .300 hitter and we have him riding the bench for someone who is batting in the .220s. I don't get it.

Because Johnson has been on the team longer and Prado has been a bench guy or minor league player.

Booby is old-fashioned. He's a loyal manager. I know what Kelly is capable of, and thats probably why Kelly is starting.

It also helps to have a fresh Prado on the bench in-case of injuries to the infield.

Maybe I'm wrong but I just have a feeling we're wasting a potential talent. Prado will eventually move on to another team and become a very good player.

As others have said on this thread, I think it's time to ship Bennett off.

Frenchy looked decent tonight. Still not where he needs to be, but better.

edit: Didn't see the 9th, but from looking at Gamewatcher Rivera was nasty to close it out.

Bennett should serve as a true inspiration to those pitchers out there that aspire to be a Major League pitcher but just don't have the skills. Hell if he can pitch in the majors, there's no reason that anyone can't. It's a guarantee that he's going to give up a hit and a run at least, every time he takes the mound. Is there no one in AAA that could fill his spot in the bullpen?

Last night's Rivera looked like the Rivera from 10 years ago. He was nasty. Diaz, McClouth, and Escobar all 3 looked lost and confused at the plate in the 9th. It was painful to watch.
