well, he hit one in the cove this year and should have had two if the ball the other night hadn't hit the brick tower, so yeah he has power, enough said.

ps: by the way, any chance we could teach this guy how to play SS,

Its because a Dodger fan said he was nothing special.

I was just saying it's not through those skinny arms. I mean the guy is more built than most of us despite what we see on TV, but he's not power like Pablo Sandoval is power. He uses his legs and produces bat speed like I do (or like most small guys do). He won't give us any oppo shots and soon teams will pick up on that and pitch him outside or play his tendencies. Let's take advantage of his pull pop while we can.

I know, right? Or Frandsen, Downs, Burriss, even Uribe can take over for all I care. Let's just get rid of Renteria. Hell, even Edgar can't play his position!

I'm thinking Uribe should have the shot to play everyday over Renteria. The only reason Renteria is still even relevant is because we OVERPAID by about 8m for him.

To think that I thought he sucked last year. This year is a whole new level of badness for him. He's on pace to have career lows in avg, obp, slg, ops, hr, sb... everything. I remember the last two offensive years that Vizquel had for us and I complained about that, but at least his defense was above all. Renteria on the other hand is probably our worst defensive player as well.

Matt Cain is getting knocked around. 2 HR's already. It may still be early, but this offense is not meant to comeback from anything outside of 1 to 2 runs at most. 4 runs is like a mission impossible.

And i'm thinking Winn needs to get going as well. I'd rather have a Fred Lewis out there than a slumping Winn. Lewis has actually been pretty good out there since the break. While Winn has been just the opposite.

HORRIBLE OFFENSE. Single. Single. GIDP. Single. Single. Single. GIDP. It had to be Pablo too. Opportunities were definitely there. Both times he went up there with no outs as well. Bad bad day and series. Lose both Lincecum and Cain's starts. Not going to win the wild card like that.

Giants choked big time. Should be 3 1/2 games out instead of 5. This team might be showing their real colors. I hope they can get it going. But LA will be hungry too.

Check out this trend as I do some research..

Road team is 9-0 in Hohns last 9 games behind home plate vs. San Francisco.

Hohn should be behind home plate tonight. Maybe this'll jinx it.

Oh well, we are getting spanked right now. It makes me sick to my stomach. I haven't felt this anticipation to a Giants/Dodgers series since '04... then bam, our weaknesses show up at the same time. Defensive problems but more-so lack of batting. I'm thinking if Freddy Sanchez was in the lineup he makes the play on the behind the back catch by Joe. But instead a rally ensues. I figured we can put up some fight against them, but I guess I was sadly mistaken.

Hopefully we can squeak out a game today with Lincecum on the mound. If we can somehow beat them by more then 5 runs, it will be a little boost going into the road trip.

Haha it was pretty fun seeing Velez up-end Martin and then seeing the dugouts empty after Pablo was hit, but not given the base for getting hit. Schierholtz THEN beats an out and is called out. This may be the worst umpired series of the year.. and we're at home. Always good to see the Dodgers pay off the umps.

Why would the Giants pinch hit for Schierholtz against the lefty.. when Schierholtz bats .467 against lefties? I guess it really does hurt when two managers are thrown out and you're left with the 3rd base coach. We gotta send a thank you gift to Gary Darling after today.

The Umps were terrible. I mean terrible. I swear it was like they had money on the game!

I don't know how my post didn't turn up when I posted about an hour ago, and I hate when that happens because I try and retype what I did last time and ends up being far inferior.

But the bulk of it was that I can't believe umpires keep their jobs being as bad as they are. Really, these guys are professionals and have a salary to make some of the most routine of calls. I wasn't able to see the game, but if somebody else besides me is complaining about bad calls by an umpire without any major form of bias, then I seriously can't see why their calls aren't put up for review and why they aren't punished for being so bad. I mean seriously... there are judgment calls, and there's just not watching the play correctly. A lot of umpires are bad and it is a huge wonder why they don't get laid off more often.

EDIT: Oh wait, turns out it's because I didn't even make that post in this thread. Ha!

Damn the umps were crap. They cost Timmy a win and if the Giants didn't pull it off there would have been a full blown riot.

We needed this win. While it wasn't the 5+ run game I was hoping for, this substituted perfectly. A close contest against the Dodgers that brought every emotion out of the team. We needed every bad call, we needed Pablo to get pissed off, we needed the ejections. It lit a fire under our *you know and we persevered, we had to.

The reactions after the walk off was awesome. Did you see who the most excited player was? Freddy Sanchez. He was the first to the plate, and pushed Aaron Rowand. Welcome to the team Freddy, I know I questioned the trade, but we got a good player in return.

To me, it always seems that once a team fights together, in these situations against rivals, they start to play better. Look at last years Rays. I don't know if it's a emotional release, but if any of you have ever gotten into a brawl, something clicks with the people you are fighting together with. You realize, that you got each others back. Hopefully this emotional, bonding win brings us a nice run into the final stretch of the season.
