    2010 San Francisco Giants

It's a new year Giants fans. Some new faces, an ace staff. Is it enough to make a bid for the West and a playoff race?

Oh yeah, they will definitely be in the race, whether they win or not? I think a lot will have to do with whether or not Posey will be able to handle the staff, i think he will do ok at the plate though.

By the way i'm picking the Dodgers for 4th place.

      Re: 2010 San Francisco Giants

Basically what it comes down to is hoping a few players have a rebound over last years poor display at the plate and hoping the pitching staff stays right where it was. I certainly have more faith in the latter coming true, but I'm still excited for spring training to start.

San Francisco Giants infielder Pablo Sandoval, the runner-up in the National League's batting race in his first full season in the majors, homered five times and hit .462 in his first nine games of the Venezuelan winter league playoffs for Magallanes.

That is a beautiful thing to read, winter leagues or not.

Sandoval is going to be a ****ing stud. If he can watch the weight skies the limit. He can be just as good as Albert P. I agree Chris, Ren and Aron need to have better years. I like Aub. Huff signing and Sanchez should be healthy and ready to go at second base. I hope Posey can hit like a former Golden Spikes player. If he does watch out this team can make some noise.

Hopefully if Renteria shows us the same stuff or lack thereof that he did last year Bochy won't wait half a year to use Uribe at SS.

Oh yeah..I can't wait. I'm so glad they were able to sign Uribe for one more year. Other than Panda, he was our only other guy who would go deep.

Anyone know how many lbs. Pablo dropped during the off season? I remember after the 09 season ended he started to train for 2010. They titled it "Operation Panda" or something like that. Anyway, I just hope he doesn't lose too much power by dropping weight...Go Giants...HUMM BABY!!

Our team is one of the deepest in the major leagues this year. That means this year's uprising or downfall will be based entirely on managerial decisions.

I'm in it for the long haul.

Thanks for reminding me who's in charge. Huge head, tiny brain.

Get him back at the park eating dogs and he'll have weight back on in no time.

I must say that the Giants offense on paper looks a lot better compared to last year, not that it could get ANY worse. However, I'm sure we all wanted more than DeRosa, Huff, Sanchez, Renteria, etc to bolster the offense in the past years. We've had the pitching and the window of opportunity is only there for so long. No contract for Lincecum and Cain will be expiring come 2012. Either way, I'm excited for the upcoming season since the Warriors are already successful in their quests for failure.

In other news, LaRoche signs a 1 year deal worth anywhere from 4-6m with the Diamondbacks. LaRoche declined the Giants 2 yr 19m offer before we signed Huff. He wanted a 3 year deal, declined a 2 year and ends up with a 1 year..

He mustve really not wanted to play for the Giants, or got extremely desperate. It definitely wasn't AT&T because he's batted .444 there in the past 3 years.

Really that is good numbers, but I think he figured it would not be good fit for his numbers for the whole year. **** him, if he is all about numbers we don't need him. This line up is so much better than last years. I think we have a good shot to win the division. I mean we won over 85 games with the line up we had last year. Plus Sandoval is our stud bat. That kid will only get better! I am going to spring training most likely with my friend for a couple of days. I hope it all works out because I really want to go check them out! I am pretty excited about this year.

Same. I'll have to unfortunately be in San Diego again so I can't check them out live all year, but I'll be watching MLB.com Gameday as well as Sportscenter highlights, and I'll see them when they come down to PETCO Park as well.

Finally, a team that I can look forward to before the season starts. I really hope this hitting coach is the real deal, because that honestly plagued us last year as badly as anything else.

I am thinking Sanchez is going to finally put it together too. That no hitter will help him. Randy Johnson said he reminds him of a younger him. I was like hell yes he does. The guy has a wicked arm!
