I totally agree. It's maddening how great Hanson and Beachy's stuff is but they both just let hitters stand up there and foul off pitches at will. Even though Beachy was great last night and managed to go 7 1/3 innings on 111 pitches he threw 31 pitches alone to Jason Kubel because of foul balls. If that were 15 then you're potentially talking about a complete game for Beachy.

I'm not as worried about Beachy. He was just a rookie last season and we saw how good he can be. You hear guys like Tom Glavine say he just needs to learn to put guys away, and that is something he will get with experience. He has the potential to be really great when he stops nibbling at guys after they go 0-2.

Another strong start. 7 innings for Hanson. 104 pitches. Him being able to stay under 15 pitches an inning is huge. He's normally 16 or more. If he can pitch like that, and not gun for k's all the time, I'd be thrilled. Nice to see Venters and Kimbrel strike out 6 in the last 2 innings though.

He was at like 60 or so after 3 and I was pissed. Dude settled in pretty nicely after that.

Delgado had his shot and now he'll be in 3A until a trade / injury....walk the pitcher on 4 straight to get the bases loaded, have your pitching coach come out and talk to you and 2 pitches later give up a GW HR.

Anyways, I hope this offense stays against the Dodgers.

Oh! I sincerely hope Kemp is given an IBB everytime he gets to the plate. Due is on fire...7 HRs are oppos which is unreal.

Nothing Delgado could do would have saved his spot. He was always going to be the odd man out.

I think if he proved his worth he might've been given a long relief job in the bullpen...certainly a better option that #61 (whom I choose not to name due to the debacle that was the 97 NLCS).

If an injury comes up or a trade, I believe MGM will probably give the nod to Teheran more than Delgado currently (even though Teheran is walking way too many people in his couple of starts).

I seriously doubt that. Delgado is going to be in the rotation for a long time, and injuries are likely to happen down the road for this team. I'd rather have Delgado pitching every 5th day as a starter in Gwinett than pitching in long relief in Atlanta. #61's job is just to pitch innings in games when you don't want your good pitchers pitching. Frankly, it doesn't matter who's doing it, and the work is too inconsistent to give that role to a young starting pitcher. Livan is perfect for the role.

Julio is walking more guys, but he also so far has his highest strike out rate and lowest WHIP since A-ball. 6 bb's and 4 hbp in 12.1 innings is concerning.

Not looking Forward to JJ pitching tonight. I don't trust him to not suck at all, especially against a pretty good offensive team.

And Jurrjens is doing the impossible. Actually making his ERA go even higher.

Wow. Didn't see that coming. It's the right move, for sure, but I'm still surprised. 10 months ago, he seemed poised to be the All-Star game starter, and now he's in Triple-A. So who gets the call? Do they bring Delgado back or Teheran? Redmond has pitched pretty well early in Triple-A too.

I figure they'll bring Delgado back. Would make the most sense. Already has some work with the club and such.

But at the same time, you want to get Teheran some big league work too, right? Maybe Delgado could benefit from staying down there for a bit.

They might not need to call a starter up right away. By my math, if they skip the turn next time through, it'd put Minor, Beachy, and Hanson all on normal rest, and they wouldn't need to call a starter up until the 3rd of May.
