My point was that a formidable Blum would be a no-cost rental for us. That's it and that's all. It's better than any other alternative. The D-backs still believe they're in the hunt, and though they have Drew back, they'd like to think they can still get Bloomquist for something. I wouldn't want to give up bullpen or youth for a rental, and that's something Arizona wouldn't mind having. I know Bloomquist ain't any sort of stud or something, but Arizona won't just let someone take him off their hands.
There's no thing as a formidable blum. In his prime, he was a decent pinch hitter. And he's well past his prime.

Okay, you're right. Forget I said anything. Bloomquist it is.

The Braves acquired Paul Janish from the Reds.

          Don't know much about him.

          Seems about right.

He's a good defender, pretty agile. That's all I know from seeing him.

His defense is his only good attribute. His hitting has been abysmal this season.
Is the pitcher the Reds get back any good? I've never heard of him.

Redmond is nothing special, career minor leaguer. He is also a FA after this year.

Janish is hitting .237 in 49 games in AAA and hit .214 with the Reds last year. He is better than Wilson, so go ahead and cut him.

Now the Braves need to get rid of the old fat guys on the bench. Bring up 2 guys from AAA to replace Diaz and Hinske.

Diaz is destroying left handed pitching this year. I can see your point on Hinske though. He's not really hitting at all. But there's not really anyone in the minors pushing for his spot.

Ernesto Mejia could replace Hinske, he hits righties well. Hinske is really only there to backup 1st. He is terrible in the field also, putting him in LF should never be an option.

He is terrible in LF. But since it's LF, who cares? It's the second least important defensive position on the diamond. And you can't have two corner infielders on your bench. That leaves you with just one OF'er, a SS, and a catcher.

Nice Braves debut for Mr. Sheets. Hope he keeps it up.

And even though Johan is on my fantasy team, I was quite pleased with that six-run inning.

Yohan totally checked out in that inning. I was glad to see it

Say what you want about Sheets but he pitched pretty darn good tonight. I am a little suprised Delgado got sent down instead of Minor to make room for him though.

He'll be back on Saturday for the double header. Then they will make a decision on who gets sent back down.
