The only guys that are playing with any fire are Bautista and the young guys.

BTW maybe Morrow is not ready to be a closer....Couldn't even get out of the inning today.

Yeah, it looks like this is going to happen.

Unfortunately, that's what it looks like. I hope AA comes to his senses and fires Gibbons or at the very least someone from up above makes that a stipulation to AA keeping his job.

In the end though, it looks like status quo all the way through "sigh"

Dalton Pompey: fool's gold or something serious?

I've been impressed by the play of this kid. One thing i've noticed is that he has great plate discipline and when he squares up on the ball he can hit it hard and deep. His triple tonight was just beautiful as he had such great balance on his swing, got down and drove the ball to the OF. He also has very good range in the field and could be an excellent defender.

What say you fellow Jays fans?

So there are media reports that the Blue Jays are one of 4 teams interested in former Yankees hitting coach Kevin Long.

            WHUT?

If the Jays let Seitzer go and replace him with Long i'll seriously bang my head on the table until I bleed.

Has anyone told AC about this?

The Dodgers will name Athletics executive Farhan Zaidi, a Berkeley-educated economist, as their next general manager, baseball sources confirmed to ESPNLosAngeles.com Tuesday night.

I don't think he's going to be happy.

It's nice to see just days after the season, AA already brought up financial flexibility as one of the reasons for the Lind trade. It seems like Financial Flexibility should be our team motto.

The one good thing? AA unwittingly set things up perfectly for his successor if he's fired/let go after this season as the only big contract that's guaranteed in '16 and onwards is Reyes. The new GM would have a completely clean slate to build the team the way he wants to.

Freidman + Zaidi + Puig = I have another team to cheer for lol. Dodgers are going to be a dynasty for years.

Cubs and Dodgers are slowly gaining my allegiance. Not gonna go on a Leafs-style FO boycott though.

I'm undecided about whether to renew my 15-game flex pack for next year.

I think about watching Justin Smoak get any at bats and I just want to throw up.

If that's the type of move we're going to make this off-season, I'm going to need a new team to cheer on.

Smoak was a very good move.

I honestly think he'll do well in Toronto. He just needed a change of scenery. Seattle wasn't the right fit for him.

You guys are eternal optimists. I think he'll be garbage. He'll hit some homers -- probably solo shots in true Toronto fashion -- and that's about it.

There are lots of HitF/X fancy stats to suggest that he might be due for something of a breakout, and he plays 1B. Former top prospect pedigree, and to think this has anything to do with the calibre of moves that will be made this offseason is to be misled. I like it a lot.

I'm not opposed to the Smoak acquisition as I think he's a guy that's due to break out with a change of scenery. I also think playing 81 games at Rogers Centre will bring his power numbers up.

In reality he'll likely just positively regress to his true talent but it'll probably get labelled as "change of scenery."

Also can't you use that Rogers Centre line of reasoning for anyone? Park factors exist for a reason.
