Yep, this is a season of peaks and valleys but one thing that's encouraging is that the fill in guys, the guys no one expects to produce have done some awesome stuff this year. It really looks like we're heading for that big Shodown Series. I want to see the dome filed to capacity because this team deserves it.

Zaun was right earlier tonight, this wave of good play has NOTHING to do with luck like it was in May when luck came into play quite a few times. The filler guys are finding roles and once the big boppers come back they will be great support if they stay within themselves.

Speaking of coming back, Lawrie is slated to play some rehab games over the weekend and looks to be the on track to be the first to come off the DL.

Rather than looking at these waves and streaks, just look at our overall record and run differential and ignore everything else.

It's a lot more statistically significant and honestly a lot less stressful.

Hey, this is a GOOD kind of stress compared to the stressing out about how sucky our team is!

Well it was kind of lucky to have Lester scratched from his start, but I agree they have been playing surprisingly good baseball.

I am not sure how the hell Muni, Goins, and Gose are hitting like they are.

Rogers Communications and Alex Anthopoulos should be ashamed of themselves. I sure hope the players don't take this personally and go into a tailspin.

Rogers has been excellent. A $140m payroll with stadium upgrades and marketing everywhere. Couldn't ask for more from owners.

Not their fault the GM doesn't understand fundamental concepts of economics, statistics, or baseball.

                  Re: 2014 Blue Jays

Well, I just heard some very discouraging comments. Barry Davis has been doing some great work. Bautista was quoted as saying he's a little disappointed and that teams find ways to improve. When he was asked about the big name pitchers leaving the AL East he pretty much said that it doesn't matter because those aren't the teams the Jays are chasing right now.

Later on Davis spoke to a player that chose not to be on camera and reiterated that Jose spoke for pretty much the rest of the clubhouse. Davis than tweeted out that they weren't expecting an ace pitcher but seeing Martin Prado going to the Yanks really upset them and THAT'S whats got them all pissed off and disappointed right now.

Boy....If things sour here it's going to sour in a BAD way.

Casey Janssen went on camera and said that some GMs are really aggressive and go all out.....The implication being that AA isn't aggressive.

Man...the vibe in the locker room must be HORRIBLE right now. This is where Gibby has to earn his money and get these guys to look past today's non activity. BTW during the PTS interview with Anthopolous he says they have the money to claim someone up to the waiver deadline. The interview really seemed like a lot of stonewalling to me though we did gleam information that Stroman doesn't have an innings cap and that the cap on Sanchez is not a hard number.

Was a Jay scratched for disciplinary reasons for tonight's game? I thought I heard it on the radio..

                        Rasmus. Showed up late, again.

Doesn't help that his brother made a crack about the Jays on Twitter. AA should've traded him instead of us not getting anything when he leaves in the offseason.

He may be a good buy low candidate. We're cash strapped and he could be useful if he doesn't cost much.

If they payed the major league minimum for Rasmus they would be overpaying.

I don't know how the Jays could do worse at centre field.

Now he's late for games and seems to refuse the hitting coach's advice:

The dude had dinner with his family and got caught in traffic. You've never been late for your job?
