His father will then proceed to blame the wind, lighting and axis of the earth for Colby's mechanics on the swing and miss.

I might get two amazing rants out of this. So, let's resign him (he does, after all, hit 2.2/10 at bats. 3.5/10, however are Ks)!

I'm not the biggest fan of Rasmus. I can see AC's argument but he seems like he doesn't take the game too seriously as he's had discipline problems. I dunno, every time I hear him talk it sounds like he's on downers or something LOL

He's an improvement over Gose offensively though for sure.

Jays are 38-46 in the 84 games Rasmus has played.

          He's hitting .201 in the 46 losses with a .235 OBP.

If they continue to play him and he doesn't get hot, there is simply no way the Jays are making the playoffs.

I think there is an argument to be made to play Gose over him, especially if the Jays have already made the internal decision not to re-sign Rasmus. If Rasmus is as good as gone, you might as well try to develop Gose either to increase his value in the off-season as part of a trade or to groom him as the starting CF next year. Neither happens if you use him strictly as the fourth outfielder.

WOWY stats really aren't effective in baseball. There are 24 other players.

But pitcher vs. batter is a 1-on-1 match-up, and Rasmus has struck out in 35% of those mtch-ups. That CANNOT help the team.

Why do you care how he provides league average offense? The ends justify the means.

He didn't play from May 13 to June 18 when we had our best stretch of baseball. It's not a coincidence.

That's actually 10000% what it is. There is literally one player in baseball who has that impact and it's Mike Trout. Colby Rasmus does not have a +/- Mike Trout effect.

I was listening to PTS yesterday and Jonah Keri made an interesting point that the Jays will probably let Melky walk because he'll demand too much money but then he said that the Jays, rather than going the free agent route should look to trade for a young OF who has some potential. Jackie Bradley Jr's name came up as one potential guy to get.

                          Young outfielder.

You mean, like, Giancarlo Stanton, right?

AA & Gibbons are coming back next year. Not surprising, as Rogers won't want to pay out anybody's contract. Jays fans better hope that Sportsnet's NHL coverage gets monstrous ratings (and advertising $$$) this coming season.

Says who? I haven't heard anything one way or another.

Oh, I'm assuming you saw the Toronto Sun article. I just saw that.

                                FU ROGERS!

Well at least the article states that Melky wants to stay here. That guy is the straw that stirs the offense's drink.

                                Still...FU ROGERS!
