Truly is amazing, the lack of oversight that Schuerholz had as the deal is thru 2026. I guess it's like payback for all of the years of TBS national coverage and its subsequent revenue.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Well, I was excited about the Yankees series...and then Williams Perez happened. This team sucks...

I'm happy for McCann. He'll always be a Brave to me.

This is beyond the Freeman injury. We are the worst team in baseball by a country mile right now and it's because the entire team has just given up. From Fredi on down the entire team is just going through the motions and doesn't even care. I read Fredi's quote this week where he "commended the organization for realizing at the ASB that this team wasn't a contender and choosing not to contend this year." Garbage...the front office can make decisions based on that, but you can't vocalize it and the manager absolutely CANNOT talk like that.

It's the manager's job to try and win with what he's got...Fredi is basically like "we aren't going to contend this year, so no need to try and win...oh, and I just got an extension so I don't care."

I get that things are "averaging" out after we played over our heads in the first 84 games, but we are not THIS bad. Literally, we are about to have seen our team win TWELVE games in the last 2 months. I can't believe the organization as a whole can accept this attitude of "whatever".

LOL...I wrote the above in the first few innings today before the game got out of hand...and this game was exactly what I'm talking about.

Yeah the team is awful now. Were you watching earlier this week when Freddie advanced a guy to third who eventually scored, but wasn't given any thanks by the guys on the bench. It took like 10 seconds before Seitzer and Miller came over to say good job, they were the only two.

Yes...it's like the entire team just wants to pack it in and go play golf. Very frustrating!

It's the manager's role to correct that and if he has too be the cheer leader and get the other guys fired up. Unfortunately he also doesn't seem to care. At least BC would go get himself thrown out to try and change the mood or not have to watch it anymore.

Fredi needs to be fired. I don't care about his contract extension or if "2016 is a throwaway year anyway" or any of that garbage.

This is a despicable display and a team like this that's given up like this cannot suddenly get up for playing for this man anymore.

If there is someone available you think can be the longterm answer for this ballclub, for many years, you absolutely fire Fredi. If not, I don't think you can. Nobody is going to sign a 1 year deal to manage, and you can't afford to pay the salary of 3 managers if you let that guy go next season. Fredi is an awful manager, but the timing may not be right to move on.

I think it's bordering on cancerous at this point though. You can't let it spread to the players like this.

I understand you won't get an established coach to sign a 1 year deal, but I'm sure you can find someone out there that wants a no pressure chance to show they can be a manager. There are no expectations and if you stink, it won't be because you are that bad. Someone could skip ahead a few years, get some MLB manager experience and then comeback in 1-2 years with a real contract and team.

If they win with the Braves, they get a long-term contract.

I don't even think you could get an up and coming guy on a 1 year deal. If you're a young guy, 1 bad season with a bad team could cost you a chance to ever manage in the majors again.

Serious question - did anyone think we were a threat to lose 100 games? I certainly didn't, and when we were 42-42 it looked safe, but now I wonder if we'll ever win again.

FanGraphs had us going 71-91 back in January. We all scoffed at that.

                                Now that's looking optimistic.
