I love that Joe is so known for that quote at this point.

Side note the game was terrible but not as terrible as a contingent of Dodgers fans in left field doing a roll call in our house. Lower the ticket prices and let some damn New Yorkers in Hal!

I looked at his slash line and legit thought for a second... They may as well bring A-Rod back, hopefully he contributes. He's only going to need to DH against lefties so hopefully he can come through

I think he might hit for us, Awkland isn't exactly a hitters paradise.

His home and road splits are an enormous difference. I'd post them, but I'm too lazy.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

We need to go get Chappie back. That's all I have to say.

Tanaka being taken out was the **** up to me. Dellin shouldn't have been brought in, he was exhausted, he just took the L the night before, then he goes out and he's getting shelled and I guess Joe had just decided he had to finish it. I want to blame him more but honestly this is what happens. You trade your bullpen, you lose games at the end. Can't blame him, not even Cashman, this is just the way it's going to go sometimes.

Still, Dellin has something man, he just hates closing. Go get Chappie again and see how that goes. We can't afford to have blown a Tanaka start though, those are the guaranteed wins. Dude would have 20 if we were better.

Tanaka confirmed Joe's saying that he was tired, basically said he was just trying to get through 7 batter by batter. So him coming out I guess isn't as bad. Now I question Layne being taken out. This loss is on Joe, and I love him, but there's no other way to put it.

Feels like this team keeps giving you hope and then keeps tearing it away.

We've still got 5 more games against Boston including these next 2, 4 against Toronto, and 3 against Baltimore. If we can get these next 2 and get back to where we were, we will be fine. It's more than likely going to come down to the end, but this shouldn't be much surprise. We're running into the same problems we ran into last September, we can't hit, Dellin is tired, one reliable starter, etc. If we were going to get in it was always going to be because of Yankee magic, nothing has changed lol.

Yea, today was probably the proverbial punch to the stomach. Losing Castro and Ellsbury in the same day. Magic turned to ****.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

Only Girardi that needs to get out of New York is Dan. These are not the Knicks, we cannot just fire a manager without any reason to believe there is a better option out there. Only manager free agent I can think of that I wouldn't mind moving away from Joe for is Bud Black I guess, and he was fired for being in the same situation. If there's a great manager prospect out there somewhere, sure go for it. But him being stale is not a good enough reason to fire your manager when he's done what he can with what he's been given IMO. Don't just shrug and say "well I guess someone should be fired for this". Joe's been here almost a decade and we should hire our next manager with the intention of moving in the same direction.

I really think especially because of the situation we are in that it would be insane to fire him. The team isn't very good, we'll be even younger and more of an unknown going into the start of next year. I say go with him probably through next year, monitoring how he handles the younger players and their progression. Next year is the last year of his deal anyway, and going into 2019 we will really want to have a guy with a year plus under his belt (if we choose to go another way) before the big 2018 off-season and influx of new talent. I think Joe is having a bad September, but I think he's still a good to great manager and don't know if there's any on the horizon to replace him. Change for the sake of change is not a good move right now IMO, we aren't a few managerial decisions from being in a better place. I would argue the opposite, but either way, we need stability.

We disagree, I feel Girardi has run his course here. He's been making some egregiously bad decisions as of late, he has gotten stale.

I'm not into firing and hiring guys either, but Joe can't be defended for his swarzak experiment, Yates, Goody, "Pazos in to face Ortiz". These are just irrational decisions.

No, this team isn't a world beater, you could argue he's been given a slew of mediocre teams, and has overachieved with the groups he has had.

I'm sick of the station to station baseball, the terrible bullpen management, and his bullpen logic is some of the worst. Having Betances, Miller, and Chapman really masked it.

Joe isn't managing off logic right now. He's managing on hunches.

Don't even get me started on his decisions to bat McCann and Tex back to back. It's not smart.

I'm not ready to kick him out for for the sake of change. But I'm willing to look at other options.

I know I'm a Yankee fan. But, this red sock slobberfest is hilariously bad. I think Dan is in love with Ortiz.
