Toronto winning would've helped us with Seattle, but we've gotta focus on TB anyway. Take this last game, tie Seattle, and get ready for a 4 game set against the Jays 3 games back in the loss column. We can still do this guys...Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
Yankees lose again vs Toronto, 4-3. Well season over, at least in my opinion. It was actually probaly over after the Fenway series against the Red Sox but I've been holding on to hope they could somehow turn it around and get a nice win streak going. These last few games pretty much killed all hope I had of them reaching the playoffs. They definately had a good run though. It's pretty amazing they were able to still hang around in contention after trading arguably their 3 best players at the time.Comment

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
We've got Severino on a pitch count today against Happ with Tanaka's start being skipped, it's like cruel and unusual punishment watching this team the last week. Dellin is getting exposed, Joe's trying to create Frankeninnings with 8 different pitcher match ups and nothing works because we don't have anyone who can reliably get someone out. If we can just lock down a winning season, I'll be happy.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

I hope Otani is available next year.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
We need guys that get tons of strikeouts and/or induce tons of groundballs, those guys can pitch anywhere. It's why Chien did so well for those few years. It's why Tanaka can pitch so well. Shohei looks like the real deal, and he's super young, have to believe they're ready to break the bank whenever he does become available. Also, I just love that name. Shohei. I can already hear the HIP HIP SHOHEI chants, with his batting I worry about the Dodgers the most though. They can justify offering more for the extra value.
James Kaprielian is going to pitch in the Arizona Fall league, joining Dillon Tate and Greg Bird. This is good news because they wouldn't send him out there if he wasn't healthy. He's the next man up from the minors as far as highly touted starters go.
Looks like Kap got taken off the AFL roster and were still waiting on news why, this can't be good.
False alarm, Jack curry says Kap is fine and should be good to go for the AFL if he can get through his rehab starts in the instructional League. Phew.Last edited by DieHardYankee26; 09-28-2016, 01:07 PM.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
Yankees clinched the winning season with Teixeira's walk off salami last night, the first walk off homer of his career somehow.
Yankees haven't had a losing season since the year before I was born. You guys are welcome. Second longest streak in ML history, behind the 39 year streak the Yankees had between 26 and 65.

Cash also says they're gonna let the last year of Girardi's deal play out and then figure out what to do afterwards.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Remember when the Red Sox punked the absolutely hell out of Hal Steinbrenner, outbidding him for a prospect and then trading said prospect for an ace?

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**
Keith Law on our farm system, ranks us #2 (Braves #1):
Spoiler
I’m so glad something is finally going right for Yankee fans, who have been suffering for, like, seven whole years now, but this system is absolutely loaded.
Brian Cashman went bananas once he got the green light to turn the roster over, flipping two very good relievers for enormous packages that gave the Yanks three of their current top six prospects. The other three are all recent first-round picks, and the system is full of the products of the team’s drafts, a side benefit of the end of their trades of prospects for veterans to prop up the aging big-league roster.
The system just keeps on going, with tons of pitching depth, a passel of natural shortstops -- we need a better collective noun for that; a "belanger" of shortstops, perhaps -– who will end up playing all over the diamond, and a lot of outfielders who rake. Even Dermis Garcia, who isn’t among their 20 best prospects, has 80 raw power and finished second in the advanced-rookie Appalachian League in homers as an 18-year-old.
There’s no weakness here. They will trot out teams full of prospects at every level, and several of them will show up in the Bronx this year. I don’t know if Gleyber Torres is the new Jeter or James Kaprelian the new Pettitte, but I’ll take that bet.
Get hyped.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it
