The Twins just signed Eric Munson to a minor league contract. I expect Cuddyer to still be the everyday 3rd baseman but Munson will give them good power off the bench. He hasn't played well at third in his career, committing 16 errors in 94 games at 3rd last season and 19 errors in 91 games in 2003. He's also played first and third, both positions he's played pretty well from what I've heard. He'd also be a good fill in at DH when one of the outfielders needs a day off.

Is Joel Mays going to play this year? He had surgey last year so he didn't play, I was just wondering.

He is supposed to start throwing tomorrow and is expected to take full part in spring training. He will have to compete for a spot in the rotation and could wind up in the bullpen.

what are the twins doing with Johan?

seriously, i would be doing everything i could to keep him, i heard they just low balled him on a offer, so he rejected a 3yr/25mill contract.

considering he's probably one of the top 5 players in all of baseball, with still 2 years left before he can file, i'd be trying to lock him up at a discount.

Yes I mean imagine if he has another big year, we are just going to have to offer him more. I wish the twins would just spend the extra money needed to do better than winning the division, I want the WS!

I highly doubt he'd end up in the bullpen since the Twins are paying him $6 million a year. Even if he has a shaky spring I'd predict they'd use him as the fifth guy in the rotation. The only way I think he'd end up in the bullpen is if he is still pitching poorly into July.

Mays, if he makes the rotation, will be the #5 starter. Since the first month of the season has a lot of off days, he may pitch from the bullpen to open the year and then slide into the #5 spot when needed.
