Re: Official New York Yankees Bleacher Creatures Team Thread
Gah, I hope not. I'd rather have Bonds break Aaron than A-Rod.
Nice to see A-Rod got HR #400 when the game's already over. I mean, yea, he actually hit #399 when it was still a baseball gamebut still, he mostly pads his stats when the game's pretty much decided.
I'm surprised he doesn't have better stats than he already has.Comment

Re: Official New York Yankees Bleacher Creatures Team Thread
Good win last night, but it's against a crappy team and we should have won the series, but this is definately better than getting swept by another below average team. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that what we've seen the last 2 weeks is going to be a trend for the season; play like crap a majority of the time, struggle to score runs, then absolutely blow up on offense 1 outta every 15 games or so and have everyone declare "the Yanks are back!!" even though they won't be.
I have a feeling it's gonna be a long season, these aren't the Yanks of old."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

I don't get it, and below is probably a reason why I'm bitter :P.
A-Rod has everything he can ever want. He's got the money where he can be a billionaire many times over if he invests it right. He's got a pretty wife, a beautiful kid, a nice big house.. he's got God given talents where he can challenge for the MVP year after year(whether or not he gets all his stats in the latter part of the game in a rout :P). He's on the team he's always wanted to play for, ever since he was a child.. he can pretty much get away with whatever he wants because he's a Yankee.
So what gives? Why is he doing therapy? Because a couple of fans boo him? He should know about that if he was such a Yankee fan how much pressure it is to play in such a major market.
If I'm bitter, it's because he's not thanking God each time he wakes up in the morning for living a charmed life like he's had. I always figured he was a headcase with the way he acts, but being in therapy despite getting everything he could ever want out of life at such a young age confirms it. Anybody would kill to live the life A-Rod lives even for only a week. If he can't handle it, why not retire and have a fresh start somewhere?
Sorry for the rant, but I really do not get why A-Rod has these problems.Comment

Arod is human just like everyone else.
Just because someone has material possessions, doesn't mean that makes you happy by default. He could have home problems, problems with fans....who really knows?Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

The fact that he's undergoing therapy despite living a storybook life is what makes a Joe 9-to-5 like me that's not really all that content with his life at the moment confused.Comment

Because his father bailed on him and his family when Alex was young as hell. I'd imagine that'd leave just one or two mental scars."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Maybe he had a problem that he thought therapy would help make it easier for him to play well... and so far he has. If he wants to take the initiative to get his feelings out that will help him play better..... then whats the big deal? How does it affect you in any way what he does on his own time?
It foesn't matter who you are... everyone has problems... some bigger than others and maybe he thought therapy could help? Who are you to criticize what someone does to help out their personal life?

Re: Official New York Yankees Bleacher Creatures Team Thread
Giambi needs to learn to catch the ball..... first he lets that ball get by him and Grudzialanek gets to third... and then he can't scoop that patented jump-turn-throw play by Jeter which would have been unbelievably pretty.... and a run ends up scoring
Put Tino back in, Joe.

Yankees rebound nicely with a 5-0 win. First real dominating performance by Johnson, throwing 7 innings, 4 hits, 0 runs, 6 strikeouts.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment
