Hopefully this mini-run should wake up the team and get back up to the AL East.

Like Yanks radio said, might as well leave in Gordon. Only has 10 pitches so far.

Sox and Jays also won, and O's have 1st and 3rd, 0 outs and down 2-0 in the 9th.

Nice, Mo finished it off and Rockies beat Orioles to make it 5 games back.

With Matsui's 5 RBI, that puts him top 5 in the AL with 50.

Jetes with his first career Grand Slam!!!!

Man the crowd went crazy after that ball landed. He had 0 Grand Slams in like 150 AB's with the bases loaded which was the longest active streak in the majors.

                  Way to go DJ!!!

Yankees win their 8-1, 5th straight win. Great game by Wang, and Jeter hit 2 homeruns, including his first career grand slam. Now we don't have to hear Michael Kay spend 2 innings talking about how he's never hit one every time Jeter comes up with the bases loaded. Thank you Derek.

Congrats to Jeter for his first career Grand Slam! I never knew he hadn't hit one in his first 135 ABs.

Jets, Dee, etc.....1 more vs the Cubbies, 4 vs the Rays and 3 vs the Mets...what do you think the Yanks record will be for the next 8 games?

Personally, I see the Yanks finishing this home stand either 10-3 or 11-2. I know we struggled early vs the D-Rays but with it being in the Bronx, I don't see why the Yanks can't take 3 of 4, if not all 4.

I think/hope we'll take 3 of 4 from the Devil Rays... with the game we llose being the one Sean Henn starts...

I don't have too much confidence in him after seeing his first outing which was against the D-Rays I believe... but hopefully our offense can bail him out and maybe he'll pitch a good game at the Stadium.

The big mouth is back at it again (Schilling)

"When asked about the Yankees, the out-spoken right-hander said "who? Are they in first, or behind us? We don't worry about teams in 4th place behind us, we will catch Baltimore and then build a lead. I don't think those guys (Yankees) have recovered from last year, people talk about us feeling the effects of last year but I don't see it, look at them, it seems like a different team day in day out over there. Schilling went on to add "When we had the 25 hits or so, I think it crippled thier year, it reminded them of last year, of what we are capable of and what we can do especially in thier House, the fear-factor or whatever you guys call it doesn't effect us, it's like a home game there with all the fans, that weekend we wanted to remind them just who they were playing and reinforce what we did to them in the ALCS." He also criticized the Yankee off-season moves :Look everyone knows we went hard at Pavano and whatnot, but they got him and we got Clement and you guys all jumped on thier bandwagon and anoited Pavano thier Ace, how about now guys? Still think Clement was a 2nd place prize?"

This better be on the bulletin board in the locker room and get them fired up for the rest of the season.... especially if they face him again.

Oh man, that fires me up.

Pretty big talk for a team only TWO GAMES ahead and not even in first place!

Like you said, this has got to be bulletin board material for the remainder of the year, or atleast against the Red Sox.
