Well, two outta three was pretty much what I expected from this weekend. So now we sit three back still and a 1.5 out of the wild card. Time is running out, we need to sweep these awful D-Rays in the next three games. We'll prolly pick up one game on the Sox and one on the Indians if we can do that.


Matchups

Tues - Wright vs. Waecther (who had a perfect game through 4 last week against us)
Wed - Wang vs. Hendrickson (looking for Wang to have a good start after he dusted himself off last week)
Thu - Small (our ace) vs. McClung (6-9 w. a 6.32 ERA, I can't wait for this herb to toss a gem against us.)


Boston is up in Toronto so they'll take two of three at least, and Cleveland is hosting Oakland. Hopefully the A's can muster two of three, but on the road it's not looking good.

lol. I would be surprised if it came to that. The math is starting to get a lot tougher for the Yanks. Unless the Red Sox tank, it will be very difficult for them to win the division. Although, back when they were around .500 I said it would be difficult for them to be where they are now so who knows.

3.5 games is not as big as it seems... especially with a 3 game set against you guys at the end of the year.

Unless the lead ever gets to 5.... I think we'll always have a shot until mathematically eliminated.

It seems a lot bigger when you start doing the math.

The Red Sox have 11 home games and 8 road games left. If they go 7-4 at home and 4-4 on the road, right in line with their season winning %, the Yankees could win 2/3 in every series the rest of the way and still not win the division. It's going to be a tough deficit for them to overcome, especially considering they play 7 at home and 13 on the road. But like I said earlier, I thought it would be tough for them to get to the point they're at now so I'm not ready to count them out yet.

The thing is, as long as we're within 3 games by that final weekend, thats all that matters. Obviously sweeping at Fenway is one of the hardest things, but it can be done. Gotta beat the best to be the best.

Anyways, thats still a good three weeks off and we have Tampa on our plate now. Can't really look ahead.

Anyone know if there is a way to order MLB Extra Innings for the rest of the year at a cheaper price?

As long as the Red Sox aren't back on their heals they'll win the division with little drama. The Yankees should be concerned more with the wild card at this point, as that is the more attainable (and realistic) goal.
