    Yeah that was easily the worst officiated game I've seen X play in all season. For both teams the refs missed lots of travels and hacks. They were very inconsistent the whole game. I'm glad you enjoyed the whole thing otherwise though.

    EDIT: I DVR'd the game and watched it today. The refs did get some calls correct that I thought were wrong when I saw them while at the game. Despite that, they still messed up quite a bit.

      Color me impressed, Richmond can finally win a game at UD Arena. KA went off and Geriot had a good game. Harper ended up with a decent point total but did not play well. The big thing in that game was UR did not get smashed on the glass

          Well luckily they have the extra day of rest but I expect a tough war. It all hinges on which rebounding team shows up. If it's the one that showed up vs Purdue and Dayton, Richmond has a chance. If it's the team that showed up against Rhode Island, then X wins going away. Game is on espn2 I think

              They are such a weird team. Hot and cold. What are the chances Gregory gets canned if they don't make it to the Tournament this season? There seem to be a lot of ticked off Flyer fans at the moment...

                No way in hell I saw Xavier beating Richmond at their place by 23 points. That was the best, most complete game they've played all season. Very impressive. If they bring their "A" game, there are a lot of good basketball teams in this country that they will beat. A month or so ago I couldn't say that at all.

                  Richmond got outplayed and outcoached today. The 5 point swing at the end of the half and then when it was 42-40 and KA's 3 went in and out and X went on 10-2 run were the big difference. KA had a terrible game and they acted like they've never seen a zone before. It took til midway through the 2nd half before they realized how to attack it. I did agree with the announcers, X is the only team in the A-10 that Richmond will have a hard time matching up with. 2 capable bigs and 3 good perimeter guys led by A-10 POY Holloway. Helps when Richmond shoots as bad as they did also. And 29-30 from the ft line, not going lose many games when you shoot that well from the ft line

                  Is the Dayton/Duquesne game on tv tomorrow? I dont see it listed on ESPN, FoxSports, or CBSCollege

                    Yeah Richmond shot poorly. I'd like to attribute that to X's defense but the Spiders had a lot of open looks and the shots just weren't going in. The Muskies dodged plenty of bullets in that regard. They do match up well with the Spiders though. Still, having guys at every position that can shoot it from beyond the arc can be a little scary. Shooting FT's as well as X did on the road was huge. You don't see a 29-30 FT game stat on the road that often.

                    If doesn't look like the 2 PM Dayton/Duquesne game is being televised. I don't quite understand that. The Dayton Daily News site had TV: None listed in it's game preview. What happened to the A-10 game of the week they'd show on Sunday afternoon? I don't think we've seen those in years.

                        They've got a shot to run the table, which would be absolutely amazing considering how they started their season and the hand Chris Mack and co. were dealt with the injuries and ineligibilities, etc. Duquesne and UD will be very tough road games though.

                          Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread

                          I want to first say that Charlotte played great zone defense tonight in their 66-62 win over XU. They played hard the entire time and it seemed like every shot they took from outside was going in. I give them credit for all of that. I thought the officiating was awful, especially the Braswell fiasco at the end of the game. Yes, wiping Braswell's two missed FT-attempts from the game because he fouled out due to the elbow's up rule was correct, despite it sucking for Xavier. However, Derrio Green should NOT have taken the FT's in his place. According to the rule (thank you xavierhoops for posting) the FT's could only be taken by Braswell's sub:

                          RULE 8, SECTION 2, ARTICLE 2

                          The free throw(s) that were to be attempted by the offended player shall be attempted by that player’s substitute unless no substitute is available, in which case any teammate shall attempt the free throw(s) under the following conditions:
                          a. When the offended player must withdraw because of injury, he or she is bleeding or has blood on his or her uniform or person;
                          b. (Women) Lost, displaced or irritated contact; or
                          c. When the offended player is disqualified.
                          As far as I know, Derrio Green was on the floor at the same time as Braswell. Someone needed to come off the bench to shoot those FT's. That was the ultimate mistake made by the officials in a game where they made many. Who knows if a sub would have made those or not. In addition to that, Andrew Taylor was fouled by a Niner on a shot and had to leave the game, which meant someone else had to shoot his FT's. Charlotte got to pick who shot those for him and they picked Frease, who was on the floor at the time because he was the one who passed the ball to Taylor on the play. Whoever was Taylor's sub should have shot the FT's. Mind-boggling. Incompetent officials. Oh well. C'est la vie.
