Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
Yeah for real, that is unbelievable. That's seriously a once-in-a-decade kinda shot.
The replay from the near baseline was cold, they showed Flynn pumping his fist as the ball was in the air cause he assumed the game was going to OT, then the friggen thing drops and his shoulders just slump. Come Big East play, they cannot afford to come out flat and play a good second half. They need to start the games better.
And Yes, I did think they were over-rated at #11 right now. Good teams play good both halves, SU is not there yet. I do think they will come out firing at Memphis though, This game should get SU fired up.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Man Oh Man...
First of all, as mad as I was, I couldn't help but give the guy props for the shot. It may be all luck, but it was amazing.
Second of all, what is wrong with these guys in the first half? I've never seen such a great team consistently play such a crappy first half of basketball. Once we get into the BE schedule we absolutely can't play like this, or we'll finish below the predicted 8th ranking.
Oh, and 11th was way to high for us to be rated. It seems we play better when we're lower ranked, or unranked for that matter.
These guys better come out hot if they want to beat Memphis this saturday.NFL: Eagles

They showed why last night.
Consistency has been a big issue with this team going back to last season. Defensively, they are one of the weaker teams SU has had in a long time. They get burned a ton in the 2-3 zone. It used to be a rarity to see SU play man, now, it's almost a necessity.
Hopefully the L will wake them up and they'll play inspired ball against Memphis.Currently Playing:

Re: 2008/2009 Big East Thread
UofL will get a good test tonight against Ole Miss. We'll find out how much UofL learned and how much they've matured from that Western KY defeat.
UofL will be a man short tonight, as they'll be without asst coach Steve Masiello who will be away from the team for about a week due to the sudden death of his father.
Also, I can't wait to see if Andy Kennedy attacks an official tonight. Kennedy was arrested for assualting a cab driver this morning.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

UofL got a nice win last night vs Ole Miss. UofL stayed mentally tough most of the game even though they started feeling invincible and taking silly shots and not staying within the offense.
E5 climbed out of his slump and played probably the best all around game I've seen him play in his tenure at UofL. Samuels was frustrated all night, but it was a good learning experience for him.
Can't wait to see how we fare against Minnesota tomorrow afternoon.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
