I've said it in various threads and at different points this season, but UofL will be fine. I've listened to these same types of comments in 2005 and last year while UofL was struggling. By the time this month is over UofL will be the beast everyone predicted them to be and we'll be primed to make a deep run in the tournament which I think will be nothing short of the Elite 8.

I know people will disagree and say I'm homering or whatnot, but I've seen this before and I've heard this all before. We'll be fine.. trust me.
They aren't a bad team just playing poor right now. Individually I love some of their pieces (Samuels, Clark, Williams) but their guards scare nobody and everyone knows it. As good as an athlete Williams is he cannot finish in traffic. The commentators pointed this out and I just noticed from there on out that he often tries to go for the finesse layup. Granted, his last drive would have been called a foul if it wasn't the last play of the game. Pitino is a great coach so I'm sure they will get better but they can't afford to play poor in the BE.

On a side note the variety of teams in the BE is crazy. You have Pitt/UCONN who are bruising teams, ND/Marquette/Nova who can score with anybody, balanced WVU/Cuse teams, and a slow down Gtown team. You really have to be able to dictate your style/tempo.

Side note #2, I really hate those under armor tight shirts underneath jerseys. Flynn for Cuse wears one and they just look funny to me.

Good 1st half between Pitt & G'twn. Despite the close score, Hoyas appear to have the most room for improvement in the 2nd half. A lot of missed layups, turnovers & off reb given up.

Its the same tandem of guards that took them to the Elite 8 last year and its the same makeup of guards that took them to a Final Four in '05.

UofL's problem is ball movement and taking contested shots. In their 3 losses this year and at random points during other games(2nd half vs Ole Miss comes to mind) UofL has taken one contested shot after another and haven't made the extra pass or have broken away from the offense. Also, and Pitino pointed this out as well so I expect it to revert back, but earlier in the season, UofL ran its offense through Clark like they did with Padgett last year. For one reason or another, they've changed that and tried to force the ball to Samuels inside and have him make the right decision. I expect starting tomorrow, you'll see UofL's offense be run through E5 like it was earlier in the year.

The intensity has picked up in DC. It's got the feel of a game in spring. Either the Big East gauntlet is going to send 5 teams to the Elite 8, or they are going to be too worn down to get 4 into the Sweet 16.

It was 40-40. Now 68-49, Pitt. Panthers just put the vise grip on this thing.

Cant say enough about Pitt right now, They are just Dominating GTown. I think everyone got so caught up in the UCONN Hoopla that they forgot about Pitt. Syracuse plays Pitt in a few weeks and I cannot say i am looking forward to it...

Man...I can't say enough good things about Blair...he was so dominate. Sam Young didn't have a very good game, but we managed without him. It seems like a different guy steps up every game. Our lack of perimeter shooting might be our death nail when all is said and done.

I was very impressed with Pitt today. G'Town is a very good team and Pitt just took it to them for most of the 2nd half.

St.John's leads Notre Dame by 8 with a little over 8 minutes to play.
