Like you said though, G'Town has pretty much been the best program in the Big East the last three years so you can't argue with the results.
Not too mention all hell breaks loose when you're down 10 pts. There is nothing worse than seeing the Hoyas down 10 with 2-3 mins left eating clock running that methodical offense.

It's only 1 game but I really hope that JT3 lets the get up and down the court. Wright can push it, Sapp makes great decisions and Summers & Monroe are really good finishers.

There were rumors that Sonny Viscaro (?) was trying to get Pitt to hire him when Howland left. Thank goodness we hired Dixon instead.

Nova looked good last night, and surprisingly Shane Clark played. We was supposed to be out 3-6 weeks but came back after 11 days and made an impact.

            1. We still can't break a press. We have the worst press break play of all time. Despite starting 3 guards everyone looks around at each other waiting for the other guards to do something.

            2. We're worse on the boards than last year. We got killed on the glass last year by any team that had a solid big man. This year we're much smaller and don't have any muscle at all.

            3. No depth at all. 8 deep with 2 freshman coming off the bench = trouble in the Big East. If and when Monroe gets in foul trouble we're gonna be relying on a true frosh and a transfer from FSU.

            4. Without Hibbert you would think that the Hoyas would play a little bit more uptempo, wrong. Halfcourt, slowdown, run the sets is the only way JT3 knows how to play. When the shot clock runs low this offense is unbearable to watch. Nothing worst than seeing your big men 22 feet away from the basket with 5 secs on the clock.

The only positive is that we are extremely young. Only 1 SR & 1 JR worth a damn. The rest all sophmores & freshman. Monroe is a stud though. He is really skilled and has a nice feel for the game. It's a shame that he will have to play major minutes at the center and get beat up all year. With another quality big allowing him to play the 4 he would be a lot better.

I disagree with your statement that its going long year for the Hoyas of course its going take awhile for them to gel... I believe they be more uptempo with Chris Wright I saw flashes in last night game. The sky is not falling...

Jacksonville is not a bad team. They were 12-4 last yr in conf and lost to FSU by 2 in their first game but...

in order to play more uptempo you need to rebound. Last year with Hibbert & PEW JR we could not rebound. This year it's going to be even worse since we're playing a smaller lineup. While we matchup better with Marquette & Nova you have to look at the frontlines of Pitt/Uconn/L'ville/ND and see we are at a huge disadvantage.

Yes, it's still early and hopfully Sims and Vaughn will step up.

Pitt played last night a beat Miami OH 82-53. They were in control the whole game, but slipped a little late in the first half when Blair was in foul trouble, letting a 13 point lead get down to 5 at the break. they then opened with a 16-2 run to start the 2nd half to put the game away.

This was the first game that I saw this year, and I was impressed with Jermaine Dixon. It's early, but it looks like he has a chance to be Pitt's best 2G since Julius Page. He is quick, plays good d, and has a well rounded offensive game.

Well I just got back from the game and i gotta say, Richmond played gutsy. Richmond is going to have a very good season this year, count on it.

As far as Syracuse goes, 2 guys that they need to score, didn't score a point. Rautins was infuriating to watch, He was taking shots that were just ridiculous, he has to take shots that are close to the 3 point line, not the half court line... Ongenaet Missed easy layups, he needs those, but he did rebound well so i will give him a pass.

The thing that Syracuse really needs to improve on is scoring in the paint. They were missing shots that they need to make.

It was a ugly win, but it was a win...

I saw about 2-3 minutes before I realized it was St. John's & not St.Joe's.

Yeah, I don't like St.John's wearing all black.

Man, I can't wait until this weekend so I can talk about my team and their performance.

The Mountaineers finally are in action again tonight as they host Longwood. I can't wait until next weekend when they are on tv against Iowa and I can finally check out the freshmen Ebanks, Bryant, and Jones. Thank God basketball season is here!! I've had enough of this underachieving football team.
