We won't be taking you guys lightly (it's that whole wounded animal thing), but it could be looked at the other way around; you cats just gave up a buck to VMI. We routinely scored 100 points last year, and that whole team is back, plus some. You guys might want to do some watching yourselves.

I'm trying to figure out how VMI could've possibly held Patterson under 10 points...that's crazy.Comment

Re: VMI 70 Kentucky 54
It's because UK wasn't taking the time to set up an offense. When they weren't fast breaking they were making bad passes in the half court and he hardly got any touches, only 4 shots.Comment

Re: VMI 70 Kentucky 54
And don't give me that they lead the NCAA in ppg lat year excuse.
UK needs to watch out for UNC. If you guys win fair enough, but it is not the tarheels that need to watch out. I would take ellington over all of VMI.YNWAComment

Re: VMI 70 Kentucky 54
I thought they learned their lesson after last year. Apparently not.
I don't think that "VMI led the NCAA in PPG last year" line doesn't fly this year, due to the fact that I'm pretty sure that since this was your first game of the season, ya'll had more than a few days to prepare for their Run and Gun style of offense.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: VMI 70 Kentucky 54
It's the morning after, and I still can't believe we lost. And I was at the frickin' game. I am proud to say I didn't once lose my cool and start shouting insults at the players...they are good kids and deserve better.
Jodie Meeks played a wail of a game. He will be in the NBA someday...has too much scoring ability not to be.
The Keydets hit some crazy shots last night....it was unreal. It was like watching a player get hot in the old NBA Jam game. They didn't miss when they were open. At one time I think they were 12-19 or something from treyville.
But seriously....this is getting old. We got suckered into a glorified pick-up game by a low-major program. Our defense was atrocious. People were left wide open at times. We threw crazy half-court passes. Our two point guards combined for 12 turnovers. Patrick Patterson took 4 shots the entire game.
We had no business losing to that team. I hate to admit it, but UK just isn't a top tier program anymore. Gillispie is a fine recruiter and a good coach, but flat out-coached last night. It's going to take another few years for us to get back to the top. Every player sans Patterson and Meeks has a MAJOR flaw in their game. We don't have the caliber of players we once had. This team is more talented than last year's, but it's still not up to par with the UK teams of the 1990's. When Michael Porter is your starting point guard, that says something.
I'm going to go to the UK-Vandy football game tonight with my best friend, drink some Jack Daniels, watch us clinch a Chick-Fil-A Bowl bid, and then go back to work on Monday. Hopefully I will be over this loss by then....because I'm likely to be in the same agitated mood come Tuesday when UNC whips our tails."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

Re: VMI 70 Kentucky 54
man its a saying, yea I get pissed when they lose, but I am not miserable either I will be pissed for a while but only until next game cause, Still not as shocking as Gardner Webb though. I said once before UK is a top 25 team, but yea they are a top 25 team in NAIA. LOLLast edited by mossyoakkentucky; 11-15-2008, 11:06 AM.XBL TheRattlesnake8

Re: VMI 70 Kentucky 54
I wouldn't say they're finished...they're still getting good recruits and have a solid class coming in next year. I think they're done as a national title contender, though, as they have been for the last few years.Comment
