The Coliseum should be rockin' tonight with the addition of 6'9" 260 lbs PF Deniz Kilicli in the mix for the first time all season. Huggins says he's by far the best low post scorer on the team and has the ability to bang inside or step out and knock down the jumper. I can't wait to see this guy play and see what he's going to add this team down the stretch.

Re: The 2009/2010 Big East Thread
The Turk is making this his personal playground! 3-3 FG, 6 pts in the first 3 minutes of his career against a 21st-ranked Pitt team. Not a bad way to kick off a career!
WVU leads Pitt 20-10 with 11:49 to go in the first half.Comment

Re: The 2009/2010 Big East Thread
That was a nice win but it's a shame that the fans had to throw stuff on the floor and take something away from the game. Now all the attention won't be about the #6 team in the nation and how dangerous they become with a real post presence, but instead on how stupid the fans are. Thumbs down to the students and their behavior tonight. It's embarassing.Comment

Funny how they want to blame the students for everything because the 2nd thing that hit the coach came from the general public side of the floor. but yeah, blame the students.Comment

Good point. They'll still be in trouble for the chants though.Comment

Re: The 2009/2010 Big East Thread
If the students didn't chant, the place would be a morgue. The general public, sitting on their hands as always. Students are the ONLY reason why that place is considered as loud as it is.Comment

Re: The 2009/2010 Big East Thread
The chants don't bother me, although the thing that does bother me is that the crowd seems to have the same problem as the basketball team. One minute they're on fire and everyone is being loud and cheering, then the next thing you know everything dies down and the students are sitting not saying a word. I wish they would keep the intensity up throughout the game and not have those lulls. That place can be just as intimidating as any other place in the country if the crowd stays into it the whole game. I've yet to see that this year. Personally, I did get an adolescent laugh out of the "Suck my Dixon" chant last night.Comment

Re: The 2009/2010 Big East Thread
Ya - I love Pitt, but I tried to stay grounded during that amazing road winning streak earlier this season. We're just not a very deep team.
WVU put it on us. We have 16 wins, and our next two games are home games vs. Seton Hall and Robert Morris. I hate to say it - but both of these games are "must wins" if we want to be taken seriously for the Big Dance.
Then, a home rematch awaits vs. WVU.
But - one game at a time.
I really admire Jamie Dixon. I know that he is standing on his head this year with this team.Comment
