Re: The 2009/2010 Big East Thread

I was at the Pitt/G-Town game last night, and while I was disappointed with the result, I must say it was a very well played game. I thought Pitt played well for most of the night, but G-Town was just a little bit better when they needed to be. Pitt has been winning a lot of close games, and they were due to come up short eventually.

Hopefully we can respond and take out the Hall on the road Sunday. They are going to be desperate for a win; hopefully most of NJ will be focused on the Jets game so the crowd will be quiet.

I was in the extreme nosebleeds lol. It wasn't bad up there at all other than the view. It was my first game, of any sport, being at the opponents place to watch the game.

P2K, I think Cusefan was referring to the tough to please Philadelphia Eagles fans. You have to admit they're amongst the toughest and sometimes just can't be pleased by anything. I don't know that carries over to their other sports, but I doubt it hits college basketball like it does in the NFL.

Gibbs was really off. I wouldn't expect that too much. You guys just need one of your post players to step up. Hell of a coaching job by Dixon so far though.

This must be the highlight of your winter. Being snowed in spooning with roommates wasn't enough, I guess.

Snowed in? I live in Syracuse, We dont get snowed, despite popular belief you can actually drive in snow. But seriously, A gay jab, how old are you 12?

But im sorry, I will stop saying facts. I will stop saying stuff like Philly fans throw Batteries, or they Boo Santa Clause, or Cheer when a player could potentially be paralyzed.

I agree, We all need to take a step back, be nice, and stop acting like certain fans of a certain city that is famous for a broken bell

They shouldn't televise or allow any fans into the UL/UConn game this year, it's gonna set the game of basketball back 50 years.

Seton Hall isn't a bad team at all. They have an All-BE guard in Hazzell and Pope is pretty good too. Not to mention Bobby Gonzalez is a pretty good coach. Their only questionable loss was to Va Tech. I still think you guys got screwed with that no call on the inbounds violation though.

I do too...but it shouldn't have come down to that. We have a problem playing defense and we shot ourselves in the foot repeatedly in this game. We could've taken it from them in the 2nd half, but unfortunately, we're not mature enough to do such things.

Watching the Georgetown/Rutgers, the bright spots on Rutgers is Rosario and Mitchell. I do like Ndiaye (En-Jai) who has a high motor on the defensive end, if he could just do the same on the offensive end without being crazy he could be a force.

But, Julian Vaughn is a pleasant surprise for the Hoyas. Georgetown is really lucky he has shored up the PF position this season. They are all young and all will return next year (mark my words), so the future outlook is pretty good for the Hoyas.

Now if only Sims could develop, however it's nice to see the crowd get behind him when he's in. They know he's struggling to figure things out and it's good to see him play well in garbage time, so there is something there he just has to put it together.

Well, the Scarlet Knights will remain winless in conference play. Georgetown plays @Syracuse & Duke next week so it'll be a tough week for sure. They have a chance to be in the Top 10 to start February, which would be nice.

Also, Dane Miller has played pretty well for Rutgers in his freshman season. So proud of him (the only Div. 1 player I've ever personally played against). Javon McCrea is going to be the 2nd player I've ever played against when he goes to Buffalo next year.

But anywho, Dane's impressed me because he was VERY lazy in high school so to see him playing the way he is now for Rutgers has been a nice surprise.
