Well...the BE is still the best conference in the country.

UofL puts back to back impressive games together, albeit vs less than stellar competition. After routing Oral Roberts on Wednesday, UofL followed that up with a solid win vs Western Kentucky.

Louisiana Lafayette and Radford are on the docket for UofL this week before opening BE play vs USF a week from this coming Wednesday. Then its the annual rivalry game vs Kentucky, which I don't think is going to be a pleasant experience for UofL fans.

Well UConn has a shot if Majok is as good as Calhoun and others say he is. We need a shooter, and he can supposedly stroke it and is amazingly athletic. Infact he's 6'11 with a 7'7 wingspan. Calhoun has been wrong before though. Majok premieres tonight against UCF. Right now UConn has no good shooters and are hectic. I'd be happy with a sweet 16 trip.

Terrence Jennings has been suspended for at least 1 game for violating team rules. Jennings was slated to start for the first time in his career tonight vs Louisiana Lafayette. Pitino said there were a couple of things that TJ had to do to get back o the court.

Its a shame because TJ has been turning it on lately and was playing his best basketball of his young career.

Although the violation wasn't publicly disclosed, a source close to the situation said that TJ had taken a cheerleader out on a date that Pitino was courting.

Depaul just lost to Florida Gulf Coast 64-61.

                      Yep, Depaul still sucks.

I wish the Big East would kick them out. They bring nothing to the table. I guess the Big East wanted them for the Chicago/Milwaukee market, but Depaul doesn't have many fans or coverage because they suck.

We have Marquette for that at least.

True. And Marquette is actually good, unlike Depaul.

Looked good today. Stix went off, Dyson played really well. Big game from Coombs off the bench, first real sign of life from one of the freshmen other than Oriakhi. It would be huge if he could develop into a reliable scorer/shooter off the bench.

I'm ready for Big East play.

The problem with Coombs is his lack of athleticism. But then again, Marcus Williams was not very athletic either.

I don't think Majok can impose his will yet. I think he'll need at least one more year after this one to really be considered an NBA "prospect". Same with Kemba in terms of time needed... Kemba plays way too erratic and hyper at times. But he can be the next Ty Lawson.

                                Go UConn!
