The WVU women took care of business against Pitt. It's always good to see them take down Pittsburgh. Hopefully, the men can follow suit.
The WVU women look to have a really good team this year. Of course, they'll get absolutely pulverized by UConn and have no chance at a Big East Title, but they should get into the NCAA Tournament easily this year.Comment

Another Big Game for SU tonight on the road against the Fighting drunk ethnic people of Ireland. I did say that If SU went 2-1 with this road trip I would be happy, But I will not be happy if they lose tonight.
Lately, Syracuse has done something that great teams do, They are finding ways to win. Against WVU, Wes Johnson did not play very good but but Freshmen Brandon Triche stepped up and scored a game high 16 pts.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Doug Gottleib is a idiot. He was saying that because of Syracuse's Reliance on the zone, that is keeping them from being an Elite team, Also a team like Texas would shoot through the zone. Someone inform Gottleib that the Zone Syracuse plays is a zone with M2M Principles, which appearently works because on the season, teams are shooting below 35% from the field. My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Ask many people that have been following college hoops for a while and they'll tell you that this year's SU team is one of the better ones defensively because of how active they are and because of how well they rebound on the defensive end.
Great win last night on the road, too. ND is a good team but SU just reached back and found an extra gear in the final 8 minutes to put it away. Really liking how this team has come together.Currently Playing:

Re: The 2009/2010 Big East Thread
Yeah, his normally flat shot was extra flat tonight but Clark did a good job of making him work. Gilbert Brown played well for Pitt but Chris Wright played great. He was trailing on 1 play and hit a pullup 3 while stopping on a dime. That stretch in the 1st half where gtown went zone hurt 'em again but they are much tougher mentally than last yr. Rutgers next followed by @ Cuse and home to Duke. OuchLast edited by KG; 01-21-2010, 02:23 PM.Comment

I'm not totally sold on Duke yet, the teams they lost to aren't all that good, Wisconsin (average team), Georgia Tech (above average), NC State (not good). We'll see how good they are when they face a better-than-last-year Hoyas' team. I'd like to see what Jon Scheyer does against a defensively sound Chris Wright and Jason Clark. I don't think he's played against a good defensive PG yet.Comment

I really hope you were not in the Student section, as I recall the Syracuse fans were acting like Philadelphia fans.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment
