Louisville is going to be a tough case for the NCAA committee to leave out or include. They're only good really was @ Cuse which is HUGE but outside of that they haven't beaten any ranked teams. I still think sitting at 9-6 in the best conference is worthy of a bid though.

The best thing Lville can do is to beat UCONN & Marquette (cpt. obvious I know) so that if there is any doubt they hold weight over other BE bubble teams.

I personally think both UCONN & Lville should get in.

...not to mention the fact that WVU shot 20 less foul shots. Say what you want about dumb fouls and WVU not being disciplined but Walker was drawing fouls if guys just looked at him. The physical play was on both ends. I truly believe that Calhoun won that game with his technical early in the 1st half because after that the officiating really was in UConn's favor in my opinion. I'm not saying that cost us the game because we didn't shoot very well from the line on the attempts we did get, but it certainly didn't help matters.

WVU took 7 more 3's than UConn did. Taking 3's=not going inside=not drawing fouls. How many more fouls did WVU get called for? 7. Seems about right.

Exactly, it bothers me when people randomly spit out stats without looking at the big picture. No offense crques, not knocking you, just in general. There's a reason why teams like UConn are always at the top of the FTA list every year, because they attack the rim all the time. It's not some conspiracy theory.

Dyson and Walker are way better at getting to the rim and line, as proved throughout the whole season, than any WVU back court player (hell anyone on WVU's roster). Both of them also rarely take jump shots (especially up until two weeks ago) which means you're going to be driving more and getting to the FT line more than most players.

Yeah, If I'm not mistaken last year we lead the NCAA in free throw discrepancy as we take it to the rim a lot, and are very good at not fouling when people take it to the rim, and instead attempt blocks with the body and make them alter it. That is one of UConn's strong points.

I always thought it was funny when after every UConn game the opposing fan would point to the foul discrepancy. We just attack the rim more often, and don't commit stupid fouls defensively.

Notre Dame is absolutely destroying Pitt right now. Is it possible ND is better without Harangody?

All three games without Luke have been great games. 1 point loss to St. Johns, 2 point double OT loss to the Cards, and a dominating win over Pitt. The two big differences that I've seen is more balanced play with no one dominant player, and the emergence of a defensive player (Cooley).

I swear Cooley looks like Harangody. And his antics are just like him(tough nosed..diving for the ball..scrappy)

I've been impressed with ND the last 2 games minus Harangody. Pushed UofL to the limit and did something that I didn't think they could do with Harangody, and that was blow out Pitt.

I gave up on the season when he went down, but if ND can go 2-1 and make a solid showing in the conference championship, they might be able to squeeze into the tournament. Doubtful, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for a little bit longer...

Notre Dame played great yesterday, and probably beats us no matter what. But - we never even made a game out of it. We were down at halftime, and then Notre Dame goes on a 17-4 run to start the second half.

But - we had so many poor possessions with bad shots. It's disturbing sometimes how easy it is to get us out of our game. It reminded me a lot of how we played at South Florida - a bunch of possessions with a couple of uninspired passes and a bad shot, and no chance for an offensive rebound.

I'd hate to be at the Pete today. Jamie is going to run them til they drop. We have to show up at MSG on Saturday, because St. John's has been playing well lately (especially D.J. Kennedy).

Yeah. ND was going to win that game almost no matter what, but Pitt's performance was not acceptable. We need to win the next three to give us the double bye.

Villanova junior guard Corey Stokes was issued a citation for public urination early Thursday morning.

Stokes was urinating between two parked cars at about 3 a.m. while surrounded by several teammates when a police car pulled up. The incident occurred outside a bar down the street from the Villanova campus after the Wildcats beat South Florida, 74-49.

“He got a summary offense for disorderly conduct,” said a source with direct knowledge of the situation.

Stokes was not arrested and will have to pay a fine, the source said.

Villanova had no official comment on the matter and sources said Stokes was expected to play in Saturday’s nationally televised game at Syracuse (9 p.m., ESPN).

Syracuse and Villanova have both secured first-round byes in the Big East tournament beginning March 9 at Madison Square Garden.

A junior from Bayonne, N.J., Stokes is averaging 9.1 points and 4.0 rebounds.
