Didn't have a horse in the race, but very exciting finish. That half court shot nearly went in. Huge fan of Shining Moment...the Luther version is best, but Jennifer Hudson's version was good.Comment

Bandwagon fans annoy me to no end. It was the reason why i was glad when Kentucky lost. I hated having my friends claim to be Kentucky fans and try to talk crap to me after they beat Florida when they knew nothing about Kentucky before this year. Most annoying thing in the world. Next year they'll have another team and claim to be the biggest fan of that team.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Congrats to Duke.
I didn't watch the last 10 minutes or so as I couldn't bear to watch them win. Almost missed a classic ending I see now.Comment

I'd imagine Duke will be preseason #1 next year if Singler and Smith return.
They'll lose Zoubek, Thomas, and Scheyer, but the former 2 are replaceable palyers. Scheyer will be the only one that really hurts, but Singler and Smith + Irving are capable of picking up the load.I write things on the Internet.

I think it'll be interesting to see how high Butler is in the preseason poll next year. Assuming everyone that can return does return, as well as Brad Stevens not jumping to another program, they logically should be even better next year. How high do you put them? 2? 3? I would think definitely top 5.Indianapolis Colts
Indiana Pacers
Indiana Hoosiers
Notre Dame Fighting Irish

This whole thing still seems surreal to me. Butler was one shot away from beating Duke for the National Championship. That entire game I kept waiting for somebody to smack me in the face and say Butler isn't really in the title game but it never happen. If that shot went in just from my pure hatred of Duke I would have went nuts, I have no idea how I would have reacted.

Top 5 is what they SHOULD get, but because of the disrespect they get from being a "mid-major" they won't.
Mack will return for sure(don't think he's a 1st round pick, maybe not even picked til mid to late 2nd if at all.) Hayward would be a lottery pick for sure because of his length, and good defense. His shooting ability needs to improve alot and will over time. I'm optimistic he will come back. And Howard has no choice but to come back imo. He needs to get a 12-15ft jumper first, and learn to play smarter.
We only lost Veasley and Jukes. Not the greatest recruits coming in, but I'm sure making the final 4 will help them in the offseason for recruiting. Living in Indianapolis myself, I am proud of the team, and what they did for this city(excitement/buzz wise) is amazing. Sucks that the Colts lost the super bowl, and now this though haha... NBA playoffs are coming now, so us Hoosiers still have plenty of great basketball to watch!
Googled and found this:
"CONTRACT TERMS: After coaching Butler into the second round of the NCAAs last season(2009 obviously), Brad Stevens was awarded with a contract extension through the 2014-2015 season. The terms of the contract were not disclosed, although he likely is earning close to $900,000 in base salary."
Stevens said himself they will have to kick him out before he leaves. Don't think he's going anywhere. He has a chance to really do something special. Build this program into a true national powerhouse to compete with the op guns every single year if he wants to. I see him coaching here for 30+ years and imo, may have most career wins as a coach before he retires(assuming they stay in the Horizon League, where they go 18-0 every year, plus win the tourney lol)Comment
