Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Does Loiusville figure to be big players with Shabazz? Everything I keep hearing about him is pointing to Carolina, Duke or UK.Comment

Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread
2011 related, but Duke has extended a late offer to 5* forward DeAndre Daniels. Apparently they were told they could be right in the hunt if they chose to be, so they acted on it. They have a crap ton of ground to make up though.Comment

Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread
Unfortunately a lot depends on daddy for Daniels. With that said, he can't go wrong with Duke or Kansas or even Kentucky if they are still recruiting him which I don't think they are as of now but that can change any second.#WeAreUKComment

Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread
Indiana continues it's push for the top 2012 class as Top 40 recruit 6'6 Jeremy Hollowell just committed to IU.
For 2012 IU has commitments from 5* Hanner Perea, 5* Yogi Ferrell, 4* Jeremy Hollowell, 4* Ron Patterson, and 3* Peter Jurkin.
Right now I believe IU is oversigned by 1 for next year but, it seems like IU will still be recruiting Gary Harris. Harris is also a standout football player as well and there is a chance he ends up going to college on a football scholarship. I don't know how they make room for Gary Harris but, if Crean can land him then IU's 2012 class would be outstanding.Comment

Apparently when he met with Crean to review the season Crean told him he was too selfish and wanted to see an attitude change.

Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread
Saw a rumor earlier on an IU board about Watford possibly transferring, any truth to that? Would open a spot but at the same time be a set back for this coming season.

It seems like almost every current player with the exception of Hulls, Creek, and next years seniors have been in discussion of possibly transferring after the season. I think with how the staff is recruiting the Class of 2012 and even trying to land another player from the 2011 class it looks very likely at least 1 current player is either going to have to transfer or be told that things won't work out for them at Indiana and they need to look elsewhere. I think that just adds to rumors. I'm going to wait for official word for a player to be transferring and not worry about the rumors right now. As school gets closer to over I think IU has 1 or 2 players leave.Comment

Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread
Yeah losing Watford would be a big blow next season but honestly hard to even care about that when you look at the class Crean has coming in in 2012, IU is back on the way up, and if they land Harris on top of it all wow. Even if Harris doesn't come that is a great recruiting class.Favorite Teams:

Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread
Michigan got a commitment from 6'6 wing Nick Stauskas.
* Rivals: 3-star, #106
* ESPN: 89/100, 3-star, #32 small forward
* Scout: 3-star
* Flagrant Fouls: #6 Canadian
The kid can straight up shoot the ball and already seems like a better ball handler than our current crop of "white boy shooters". He seemed to regularly outshine both of his 5-star teammates at St Marks.

He is still at IU and is planning on coming back next year. Honestly at this point if he wants to go let him go. They are not going to be real good next year anyway, they will be better but not real good. They are about 2 years away from really blowing up and getting back to being Indiana again.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread
Yeah IU should be scary in a few years, Crean is cleaning up in state.
Sven I know this is a 2012 recruiting thread but I saw you guys picked up a commitment from a 2011 prospect Max Biefeldt, I think he will be good for you guys, would probably benefit him to redshirt next year but I think he can be one of those players in a few years that is just a complete pain in the butt to the rest of the conference, should be a solid role player for you guys.
Not a great athlete, doesn't have the best size (shorter than hes listed), but he is a fierce competitor and he can score and he isn't afraid to get down low and rebound.
Would have loved to see him at Illinois but we ran out of sholarships with Sam Maniscalco transferring in to us about a month ago from Bradley (not official yet still but he has the last open scholly for us so Max would have had to walk on).
Another potential plus for you guys, his family is loaded, his grandparents donate a lot to UI so I'd have to imagine if Max has a good run at UM they'll be sending some of that cash your way in the future.Favorite Teams:

Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread
Yeah I saw James Blackman's son play a couple weeks ago and he is unreal too.
He is only a freshman at Ft Wayne Luers (same school that produced Deshawn Thomas) and has verbaled to IU already. Crean has the best few players from Indiana High Schools verballed for the next few years. He is really cleaning up in state.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment
