    Re: 2012 Recruiting Thread

    My predictions:

    Shabazz Muhammad: UNLV
    Mitch McGray: Michigan
    Kaleb Tarczewski: Kansas
    Anthony Bennett: Kentucky
    Gary Harris: Michigan State
DaJuan Coleman: Kentucky (Taking too long for Syracuse to still have a huge lead)
    Alex Poythress: Memphis
    Jarnell Stokes: Memphis
    Shaq Goodwin: UCLA
    Devonta Pollard: Georgetown
    Robert Carter: Georgia
    T.J. Warren: N.C. State
    Amile Jefferson: Villanova
    Brice Johnson: N.C. State
    Tony Parker: Ohio State
    Willie Cauley: Kansas State
Torian Graham: Really don't have a clue. Would say State but no way now that Purvis and that other guard is there.

Anyone else want to take a random stab at things??

If your predictions held true, that would be an amazing class for my Wolfpack.

If that holds true I'll have lost all faith in Duke's recruiting abilities. Here I was thinking adding Jeff Capel was going to help.

I thought you said you didn't expect them to get any more ELITE level players. It was just my educated guesses even though recruiting is such a crapshoot. Anyone else want to try? It'd be fun looking back in the spring and seeing who came closer.

Shabazz and McGary are elite...Parker is not, but considering Duke's lack of big men since Shelden I'd be more excited if we got him over the other two.

Of course it wouldn't possibly be that he knows Cal is a much better coach than Gottfried and will actually make him better.

Not to mention the chance to play for UK and the massive amount of exposure that comes with it.

All smack talking aside, any good pg should want to play for Cal if for no other reason than his track record for pg's in the past 4 years. Not saying they all want to or that Cal will always get a top pg, but it makes sense if they do.

No need to take offense. Just being told what players told me.

I know this is a 2012 thread, but WOTS is that Michigan State appears to be the very early favorite for Jabari Parker, considered to be one of the top prospects in a while

We'll see Illini fans commit suicide en masse if he commits to you guys.

None taken...didn't you see the "all smack talking aside" line after that?

                              http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/dave...r-mitch-mcgary

Next week, Mitch McGary (Chesterton, Ind./Brewster) will decide between Michigan, Duke and Florida. He officially visited each school except for Florida. “I think the kid’s getting kind of burnt out with it,” one college assistant said. “I think the kid’s going to Michigan.”

This is on the verge of becoming one of those rare full circle situations. A few weeks ago, the Wolverines were on the verge of getting a commitment from McGary; I believe that. At that point, a number of programs, sensing that Michigan was close, began chipping away. When a leader emerges -- as Michigan did -- it makes it easy for every school to see whom they have to beat and therefore the leader winds up under attack. A lot of times, the perceived leader never recovers and fades. In this case, Michigan appears to have overcome the objections and has itself positioned to nab the top power forward in the country next week. Now, here’s the caveat: this situation has changed before, therefore it could change again but right now it’s on autopilot and the guy flying the plane likes the Wolverines.
