Possibly. George Mason beating UConn was HUGE. That UConn team was loaded and considering the best in the nation...easily.

It would depend for me on who VCU beats.

If VCU beats Purdue, then the winner of Notre Dame / FSU (for this argument, let's just say ND), and then say Kansas.. yeah, it would be the greatest tourney run, even better then George Mason because of the play-in aspect. They would have slain essentially 5 major schools, which is crazy to think about.

Stylistically though I thought they would beat Georgetown, but I wasn't quite sure if they could handle Purdue thanks to the dynamic duo of Moore and Johnson. Looking really good right now though. If they beat Purdue and then get another handicapped offensive team in Florida St., their tourney run has a great chance of continuing as long as the 3 ball is falling.

They barely get into the First Four, and if they hold on this score they are getting into the Sweet Sixteen.

VCU upsets Kansas vs George Mason upsets UConn. It's pretty close..

Regardless, let's not jinx them because they haven't beaten Purdue just yet.

UConn was horribly overrated in 2006. Horrible perimeter shooting team. Rudy Gay and Denim Brown weren't good perimeter shooters, they put up so many bricks. Marcus Williams was a good PG but other than that, they were very beatable.

If George Mason didn't beat them, Florida would have beaten them in the Final Four.


Kansas getting upset wouldn't be too much of a surprise. I think Illinois will beat them. They aren't a good perimeter shooting team outside of Reed.
