You should root for UNLV. They're a great mid-major program that's been doing well lately (they're currently ranked #12, but they'll probably drop a few spots this week because they lost to San Diego State)
NCAA 14 - Eastern Michigan Eagles

Year 1: 11-3 (7-1 MAC) W over NU in Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl

      Year 2: 0-0 (0-0 MAC)

Last Game: 24-17 W vs. Northwestern in the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl

NHL 13 - Columbus Blue Jackets

      Year 1: 1-1-0

      Last Game: 3-2 W @ Minnesota

You're West Coast, so I'll stick there. I see UNLV, San Diego St, & Fresno State were already mentioned.

        I'll throw out three:

        1. Saint Mary's - Tightknit fan base. Outstanding coach. Quirky style.

        2. Long Beach State - Plays loaded nonconference schedules. Capable of beating almost anyone. Huge sleeper. Another likeable coach.

        3. Seattle - Plays a pretty insane style, you'll have to look it up. Would take some major balls & pride to commit yourself to this program. They're starting a rock bottom, but should ascend quite steeply in the next decade or two. Long term project program, super exciting, and a surefire bet to keep improving and moving up as time goes on.
