Looking more likely that the Basketball schools have the votes to dissolve the league since Temple can't vote on dissolving the league because they are only an associate member this year. UCONN and Cincy are basically begging the schools to stay because that might be the final blow to the tv deal. The value might go as low as 40 million leaving the schools with about 4 million per year per school. Even though basketball normally isn't worth a huge amount to tv deals, the Big East has programs that add a lot of value to the tv deals. With the loss of teams to the ACC and Big 10 the value of the tv deal is losing value daily. With all the money Boise would have to pay the Mountain West to leave and the Big West to put their Olympic Sports there, this may end up costing Boise to play football in the Big East.
If I was the Basketball schools I'd do it. Everybody else was doing what was in their best interest and didn't give a flying flip about them and left them unstable. UCONN was a real ACC contender and Cincy tried to get Urban Meyer to lobby the ACC and now they are begging them to stay. The Basketball schools would be morons to give up the leverage they have at this point and now have the ability to make their own path and maybe make the 2nd best basketball league after the new ACC.
