I believe 4 people have motioned for the removal of the following teams on the under consideration list: Boston University, Belmont and Green Bay

3 people on: LSU and La Tech

1 person on: Utah

For a motion on seeding, you need 4 people to pass the motion. If the motion passes, the best way I think to deal with it is everyone sends me a number where they believe the team belongs on the overall seed list. From there, I would take an average of the 6 numbers and put the team there. I can't think of a better way especially given time constraints.

Also, I motion for the removal of Southern Miss from the under consideration list.

We are now onto the 4 seed ballot consideration. This is where we give a list of our next best 8 teams that do not include Iowa State, Syracuse, Cincinnati and North Carolina. Please rank your list for the sole reason that I've had back to back 6 way tiebreakers lol.

Also, I noticed a lot of people sent me the ballot near the deadline. Does that mean that you are available for the rest of the night? If so, we could speed up the ballots some by doing multiple ballots tonight. If not, we'll try the 7 am et deadline.

I'm going to edit this post in a minute to update the motions but you already motioned for Utah before so you can't 3rd on Utah lol.

So as an update on outstanding motions:

One last edit on this: We will go with the 7am, 3pm and I'll say 11:59 pm ET for Saturday deadlines. I've looked at the championship games for tomorrow: AAC, Big 12, Pac 12, M-West and Big East. From these games, we are guaranteed at least 2 at-large spots to open up. That moves to 4 if the M-West is New Mexico-SDSU and Pac-12 is Arizona-UCLA. So the at-large consideration list will consist of 8 teams because we still have over 20 teams on the consideration list. That list will be due at 11:59 pm ET, tomorrow night. Remember do not send a list that has Xavier, Nebraska, Dayton or BYU on that list.

Assuming you believe you can commit the time Sunday: Tovarich, Hustlin Owl and Gondie, you're all on the bracketing committee. Please read over Section 3 of the manual to understand bracketing principles like when can certain rematches happen, etc. If anything changes, just let me know.

The bracket template I created, I think can be a huge help. I am not putting a limit on the size of this committee. The more people that can help the better. If 4 people are on this, I don't know if we want to go with 3 people making brackets and 1 person checking each of the brackets. But we can figure out that out along with what's a good time to start ,etc.

Just to give, everyone an idea on the deadlines for Saturday:

7am: 4 seed consideration ballot
3 pm ET: 4 seed ballot
11:59 pm: 5 seed and at-large consideration ballot

Sunday morning, TBD: A rank list of almost every auto-bid in the tournament to that point. (So I can go through seeding 13, 14, 15 and 16 seeds quicker)

I'm hoping I can get home from my 2nd job, Saturday night, by 1130 or midnight but I don't know.

After looking at their resume I'd also move that we reconsider Southern Methodist. I know they are ranked but only one top 25 win and four top 50. Those 4 top 50 wins match the total of teams under consideration like Arkansas, Utah, and California. No other wins against the top 100 and 3 bad losses: Houston, Temple, and South Florida.

Assuming I can get the 5 seed consideration results and at-large consideration results out quick after the deadline: I'm going to set a Sunday morning deadline for the at-large ballot and 5 seed ballot for 1030 am ET.

I think we should begin to scrub the seed list for the first 16 teams. It takes a simple majority to move teams. Would think this is most important for the fourth one seed.

Second, this isn't protocol but in our time crunch because we are not all in the same room I think it's applicable. Once we finish the first 16, I think it is important to begin the bracketing procedures, because the first four lines involves the most time. If we could get those lines done tonight, the rest of the lines will fall into place fairly easily tomorrow. In the same room the committee takes at minimum three hours in bracketing. Usually all day Sunday is bracketing and their field is set tonight. I'm around all day mostly so I can help if needed.

I move to have Michigan moved up to the number 4 spot from number 8. As many or more top 25 and 50 wins than the teams in front of them with the exception of Kansas' top 50 wins, but their play without Embiid is enough for me to bump Michigan up.
