I'm sorry... But if you want to change that stuff. You better look into paying these kids or changing the flow of the money. If Tyus and Okafor would of gone to the Badgers.... You think we would be hearing this kind of talk. Hell no... Everyone in Madison would of be happy. Bo Ryan outlook like that will limit his top level recruits. It's probably the reason why he lost Diamond Stone to Maryland. Who cares if a kid goes 4 years or only 1. Your not going to pay them.

Ouch, from a Missouri Senator on Twitter:
Congrats to Duke, but I was rooting for team who had stars that are actually going to college & not just doing semester tryout for NBA.
To be clear folks, this isn't about the kids, this is about the system. This is about the NCAA/NBA.I don't blame the very talented athletes.Comment

Ryan came off like a big baby. News flash Bo: everyone makes money off this billion-dollar tournament (including NCAA shills like Vitale) EXCEPT the "kids" these coaches care so much about. Absolutely nothing wrong with one-and-dones.Comment

College football isn't as bad in this regard as they have to wait three years before they can go to the NFL, though in either case many of the legit pro prospects aren't there to "play school" (not that I blame them). It's kind of silly that the NBA and NFL have college sports as their farm leagues, really.
EDIT: Bo Ryan's comments were uncalled for, to be clear.Last edited by superjames1992; 04-07-2015, 11:09 AM.Comment

Agreed. There are very few programs I have a great deal of respect for just based on how they handle themselves and how they were built up. UVA and Wisc. are 2 of those programs.
Comments like that make him come off as bitter and frankly isn't a good look for him or the continued success of his program.EXPERIENCE MAYHEM FOOTBALLComment

Heck, it was 71 years ago before they played for the national championship, comes once in a lifetime.
His dream was probably shattered and I can at least understand where he is coming from, but also agree the timing wasn't right.Comment

I don't blame the players. I'd leave after one year if I was them, too. I just think they should be able to go to the NBA after high school and think it creates a bit of a sham.

Football's unique because of it's violent nature. Eighteen-year-olds physically aren't ready to take the pounding of the NFL.
The NBA & NFL are smart - college sports are their FREE farm leagues. What a great racket they have going.Comment

Re watching the game right now.... Watching Allen take over. So much complaining on the badgers side.

I still think one-and-dones are hurting college basketball, at least for me. It just kind of taints the whole thing in my view. I wish the NBA had never instituted the minimum age requirement. Of course, you still had one-and-dones who left after their freshman season before, too, but a lot of those guys would've went to the NBA right away.Comment

The ball is tipped... But I can't even see where the finger touches it lol
I think it makes things more difficult for coaches to build teams. However, I don't see how having all of the best players spend a year in college is hurting the sport. At least as colelge fans we get to see these kids come in an play for our schools. In the years past these players would have gone straight to the NBA and the talent level in collge bakstball would be worse.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
