At first I was okay with vs credit in my team and myplayer. But now it's beginning to bottleneck the enjoyment of even association/my Gm modes.

If they're gonna do that sell your game for 20 dollars. Cause now two thirds the features are limited with out spending more money or spending a stupid amount of time. We have jobs 2k.

This isn't about the next generation missing features, the mygm available would be awesome without having to grind vc credit before having full control.

At the very least they should allow for returning spent vc and spend it in a new mygm or myplayer. Instead your locked in.

Wow, I had no idea this was going to blow up the way it did. I just want to clarify my stance on next gen NBA 2K14. The game is worth playing and deciding for yourself what you think of the game. Obviously I was very upset in my initial post, but it really stems more from disappointment than anything else. I've really enjoyed customizing the game to my specifications and enjoying the great rosters that people in OS and everywhere else have created in other versions of NBA 2K. This isn't just about My GM and VC points! For me it's about the foundation of NBA 2K. NBA 2K had a great foundation and just needed to keep building upon it, but it seems they decided to go with the destroy and rebuild approach. Yesterday was a whirlwind of emotions for me as the realization sunk in that I wouldn't be able to do most of the things I've been able to do (and enjoyed doing) over the last 4 or 5 years of NBA 2K basketball games. Not having options such as create a player is something I never saw coming (NBA Live 96 for Sega Genesis had create a player, come on). One of the coolest features ever in a video game (Start Season from today) gone. I could go on and on about what I like and dislike, but I want to send a message to any who posts on this or any other forum. People are entitled to their own opinions, and NO ONE has the right to persecute or judge someone on those opinions. This is not intended for any particular individual, but for any one who wants to troll and start drama. That being said, I'm going to find a way to make season mode work for me because this game is too damn sexy to not play it. Peace!

This is why I'm not buying the game.

As far as complaining goes, I don't remember anyone complaining when the first next gen gameplay trailer came out. People were going crazy being in love with what they saw. So to ridicule those same people now for expressing how disappointed they are in the final product, makes you sound like you work for 2k or something.

If people are happy, they will say they are happy. If they are not happy, they will say they are not happy. Stop trying to tell people what to think. Its obvious that the overwhelming majority are not happy. And I don't see anything wrong with that.

- Be able to save rosters to hard drive, not having to connect online to get them.

It seems the next-gen 2k seems like a mixed bag. I actually like what they were trying to go for with MyGM and some of the new management aspects of the mode. What upsets me are the options taken out and the implementation of VC. With every iteration of 2k, VC is seemingly becoming more and more difficult to acquire (without using any tricks) and to do anything in 2k requires a vast amount of VC. This makes people either grind for VC or just out right buy it. Those that buy it either don't want to work for VC or they just don't have the time to. It's an obvious cash grab disguised as some kind of experience points sytem like in an RPG.

I'm getting off topic though. I feel MyGM is a logical step forward for association. 2K just needs to add multiple user support, remove (or at least lessen) VC, and free up more of the game to give the user more control. I truly hope that the removal of features throughout the game was so they could focus on creating a solid foundation to build off of.

Compared to last-gen, 2k has done an amazing job with their first iteration on a new console generation. It's far from perfect, but it's still very good.

again, I will state that my only dissapointment with 2k is this rediculous fantasy direction the game is trying to go in. as someone who plays a lot of my career I've found that these corny and cliche cut scenes have taken the originality out of the mode, and trying to make several Mc accounts will also make the mode repetitive. even more so than before. this mode was all about me simulating my career as an NBA player. now it just feels like another RPG game like halo or something. fantasy and sports games don't mix, unless you plan to make a sports version of gta, which this game is not. and now hearing that my gm is taking this she type of fantasy approach means this yet another mode that I'm not gonna touch. seeing this direction that 2k is taking makes me want to reconsider purchasing this game. until they get back to being sim focused, and not fantasy focused, which is the exact opposite of sim. I will say this though. the actual gameplay itself is excellent, and worth the money if your into strictly playing on and offline quick matches.

They had a few good ideas, but they completely removed a lot of the flexibility that a portion of the audience enjoys. Over a year later and 2K makes the same exact mistake? Doesn't really make sense. Maybe some people consider taking the Association template, adding some static, text-based scenarios & removing all flexibility to be the height of innovative thinking, but I'd much rather have the admittedly awesome game play with a mode I really enjoy using. This isn't it.

My man like I have stated before this was no mistake by 2K believe me they know exactly what they were doing. They had to differentiate this game from current gen in both positive and negative ways. And trust me they know exactly what Madden went through when they took away options the problem was Madden didn't have a current gen game as an alternative last year .2K has a good current gen alternative to fall back on for your roster and association needs but if you want them pretty graphics and enhanced gameplay ya gotta get next gen too... That's the reality of this situation but it will never be admitted...

I'll never understand the motivation of people on this board who come into a thread dedicated to a part of the game that they're not interested in, say that they have complete disdain for the mode and think it's not worth putting in the game, and then have the cheek to feign concern and sympathy towards the mode.

Truly mind-boggling.

So one thing I've noticed with the uploading and downloading of rosters in this game is that they don't give you an opportunity to describe your roster, you can only name it. So basically your almost blindly downloading rosters without much of an idea as to what is in them. This seems like something that 2K should be able to fix with a patch. Does anyone know if 2K plans on making any changes to the roster sharing format?

Nice thread. Gameplay and graphics are great but the lack of options and no association mode is very weak to say the least.

I don't think the game is very good in terms of modes, menu, menu graphics or features but the gameplay so far looks very nice with the exception of the sloppy passing and ball handling.

Yea I agree in most part, but the thing that just kills me is that everythin cost vc like just to set ur lineups cost vc lol smh, I could live with this mode till 2k15 if everything didn't have to cost vc or just have my gm mode have its own point system
