You guys do know 2k wasn't obligated to come out with a next gen title and could have just released 2k14 on ps3 and 360?? And now you guys are whining? 2 games in one year? Smh

Huh?...My man its business 101 . Do you really think 2K didn't want in on this next gen money?. In order to get it they have to develop a game not to mention they have a license that probably obligates them to make a game. What they did was make certain aspects of the game different enough from current gen (graphics, gameplay)that it made people clamor for the game and the system. They smartly left out some current gen features to entice people to keep or purchase current gen (ie roster editing, association 30 team control etc) this is effect doubles their revenue stream since I guarantee most will keep the current gen for its modes and the next gen for its outstanding graphics and gameplay. While to me its a deceitful move its part of the whole scheme of maximizing revenue. As the next gen system becomes more available to the general population current gen features will be added to the next gen game as current gen will begin getting phased out. The problem I have is after you get over the pretty graphics etc what substance does it have to keep it off the shelf if I am not into RPG?...Play now? Say what you want about Madden but at least they brought over all their features from current gen to next gen. That's a ballsy move on their part. By 2015 NBA 2K14 will have the same features as current gen.

This post is spot on. And it's really disheartening because it seems like it's just going round in circles with the removal of features and then adding those features back in two years later, dubbing them as "new". And the process just continues.

Companies don't release products out of the goodness of their hearts. If there was no revenue to be made this game wouldn't have seen the light of day.

Y'all are trippin over nothing lol. This is FIRST YEAR next-gen with new consoles, new ways to develop games, and laying a fresh and new groundwork. Just because your precious game modes or features aren't in this year doesn't mean they aren't going to be added. I'm sure most of their time was focused on graphics and creating a robust myCareer, (which whether you like it or not, is 2K's most popular game mode and what people love the most, at least the majority that are going to buy the game.) and also myGM. They're laying groundwork, a core. Next year, instead of spending all their time on animations and details of courts, and lighting, and graphics, and next-gen myCareer and myGM, I'm sure their going to spend time on the more traditional approach they took in the years prior. RELAX.

You guys really seem unappreciative whine babies for 11 pages of this bashing. 2K is the best looking, best animated sports game you will have at launch and I'm sure till The Show comes out it won't be beat. Even then, 2k might win out. Give it some time, enjoy the detail, graphics, robust modes. If you're not satisfied, GameStop will buy your game back for you.

I think more people are mad at the removal of features rather than spending a LOT of time focusing on myGM and myCAREER. Haven't you noticed there's no CAP? Or CAT? A standard for 2K games for the longest time?

The removal of features when we know certain modes are big kinda tell you what happened.

Every paying customer has the right to complain. Because 2K did not say otherwise, the normal assumption was that NG would be CG but improved, i.e., any changes made would be improvements. This is obviously not the case. They failed to provide many details that they knew people wouldn't like. Again, it is a business but they're also part of a gaming COMMUNITY and I don't like their approach.

Again this is about the direction 2K is taking this franchise. If you think they spent as much time as they have doing MyGM and a RPG MYCareer just to swing it back to something else I think you don't understand the way sports game development works. They are trying to build off of this direction. Sure they'll add some things from 360/ps3 back into the game, but the overall theme is to my forward with the modes being like they are.

As for MyPlayer I'm a fan of it. It's the only mode I've played in recent years. So I think it should get more attention. However it was the most popular mode well before they turned it into what it is now and there's a reason for that. We have no idea how people are going to respond to it being so scripted now. I for one hate the direct the game has been going for some time now. This has just pushed it over the hill. There's nothing SIM about this direction. It's become a complete fantasy mode. No thanks, but if you enjoy it more power to you.

Agreed, but no one is forcing you to buy it, especially after all the info we had prior to the game releasing lol. I informed myself and skipped current gen (pc version) and know full well what I'm getting with this, I know it's not perfect but I'm satisfied.

Hey man I have question for you? Like you I gained as much info about the game beforehand so I knew about MYGM etc. But honestly did you know that you couldn't save your own rosters to your hard drive and had to be online to retrieve your roster on 2L share prior to the game being released?. And also as far as season mode did you know beforehand that you could only control one team, I was led to believe that season mode was kept in place for as 2K put it "people who want to control teams and move plyers around". Many were satisfied with just season mode as an alternative to MYGM because it was implied you had control but that's not the case. So I can see why people are heated.

didn't they rebuild their player model and facial scan technology to take full advantage of next gen consoles? maybe it had to be locked down a little more until they work out some of the quirks with CAP and such. or maybe they want the CAP to be along the same level of detail as the other players and until they can provide that without it being a buggy mess they held back? just thoughts I dunno

but I promised myself id stay out of these threads along with the "im pissed because player X lost 10lbs and 2k is Lazy for showing it, or not getting his mustache hairs right" lol so yall have fun.....

some of you cats would need blood pleasure medicine if you had to deal with some of the stripped down games from the past like season modes completely removed etc........

didn't they rebuild their player model and facial scan technology to take full advantage of next gen consoles? maybe it had to be locked down a little more until they work out some of the quirks with CAP and such. or maybe they want the CAP to be along the same level of detail as the other players and until they can provide that without it being a buggy mess they held back? just thoughts I dunno

Well already this dumb *** upload logic is making me want to throw my controller.... I just got done editing a lot of players and when I go to save every single name I give the file a pop msg comes up saying it involves foul language so I can't save the roster this is totally unacceptable and totally unnecessary 2k has to patch this crap out of the game thus year not next year. Smh what a waste.

but I agree you have the right to voice concerns. I totally agree. I myself don't like all the time and attention put into modes like "my player" and the direction of turning sports game into GTA type free roamers where you live the life. but I must admit some guys love that stuff and as technology changes those customers will be considered more and more as well. if it was up to me 90% of the resources would be spent on the court. But I still cant knock 2k for what they have done with this game. considering some of the striped downs we've received in the past

I don't have the game yet as I am waiting for my Xbox. Seeing these impressions are disappointing. It makes me question if I should even getting the xbox. Is $500 worth it? Anyways, i know it's early, but I am very excited for 2K 15. You guys know that they should have all this stuff added back into the game for next year. If they don't, then they never listened in the first place.
