Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
no need to be pissed, as veteran gamers yall should know the first gen games on new systems are usually bare-bones. I'm quite surprised at how many features they was able to bring to next gen this year. Next year's game will be vastly improved as they will have more time to figure out the hardware.Comment

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
This is what people seem to be losing sight of. It's the entire direction of the game that seems to overwhelmingly be the issue here. 2K did not just spend a whole cycle adding MyGM mode or turning MyCareer into a RPG just to change it moving forward. If you don't like what they are doing now there's little reason to believe you'll like it in 2K15 -16 and beyond. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
I would have been as happy as a pig in poop with the same game as current gen with the new graphics. The CAP thing is a real bummer for me. I always like to make a few fictional guys (myself being one) and throw them on a downtrodden team and try to build them up. Was so pumped to be able to do this inside of the new GM mode. It's a real shame too. The gameplay is off the charts but I can't play it without thinking "What could have been". Guess I'm heading out to go pick up some other games.Comment

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
I've been buying NBA 2K since the Dreamcast. Although this is a stunningly beautiful game I think NBA 2K13 might be my last purchase. I picked up my PS4 this morning and was really looking forward to getting 2K14 next gen. But no create a player? That is a deal breaker. I've always created custom rosters with myself and my friends on them for years. The fact that I can no longer do this takes away any enjoyment I might have in a basketball game. I'm not sure who wanted a myGM mode where you manage the price of hot dogs but this isn't at all the direction I was hoping for. I only played Association mode and the only thing I wanted was for them to fix the trade and draft logic in the mode. myGM takes things way too far. And now having to need VC to play this mode? Another deal breaker.
I hope in future versions of this game 2K can reach some sort of compromise with its fan base. Making a multi-year season mode would fit the bill nicely where we could just play basketball and manage rosters on all 30 teams without the VC and RPG elements. Of course adding back create a player is a must. I would even be willing to purchase a DLC if create a player could be added to 2K14 next gen. I just hope 2K doesn't lose sight of the what got them here. Please put back the elements that made this series so popular and enjoyable. But as it stands right now I cannot purchase NBA 2K14 next gen.Comment

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
I love what 2K is doing, I made a thread or post maybe a year or so ago that 2K needed to make their game like an Sim's game. But I wasn't talking about a linear story mode like in MyCareer, I was talking about an actual Sim's game where you have a fully user controlled player off of the basketball court (with a house, car, family, friends etc.) that affected your NBA career.
Some of yall are stuck in the stone ages, 2K is trying to breath life into the decisions we make in our career or as a GM, not the same old boring button pressing transactions.
Do I miss season mode, play-off mode, and the ability to edit players yes, yes yes, but the game is so good on the court and they put in so much hard work that I cannot complain, especially when most other companies decided to just port their games over to next-gen and tout it up like it's some big next-gen upgrade. NBA 2K14 is one of a very few true next-gen launch titles and even though it's missing a lot from current gen (im confident most of them will return in the future), I applaud them for their efforts because they gave way more effort than anyone else.Last edited by ghettogeeksta; 11-16-2013, 05:46 PM.Comment

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
Im a my Career player mostly so 2k14 is great to me
I always found the association mode to be a waste of space to be honest but they should have left the option for those that like itComment

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
I will say this once again though. If people were getting frustrated or complaining at 2k for doing nothing but adding things to an already great current gen game, I would agree with you. But is it really fair to call people "bottomless pits" for being frustrated with an upgraded game that is missing features that are in the current gen game?SimWorld NBA 2K19 Fictional Draft Classes

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
Perhaps it was hyperbole on my part with the bottomless pits. In order for innovation, some things need to be left of the cutting room floor so to speak. I'm all for fresh, new ideas. Either way, 2k loses, no matter what they do. Make new improvements while removing old, it upsets these guys. Keep it the same, you upset those guys. Cant win for losing.
Over a year later and 2K makes the same exact mistake? Doesn't really make sense. Maybe some people consider taking the Association template, adding some static, text-based scenarios & removing all flexibility to be the height of innovative thinking, but I'd much rather have the admittedly awesome game play with a mode I really enjoy using. This isn't it.Comment

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports
following the pattern of 2k7 shouldnt nba 2k15 be the next great bball game one year after the next gen consoles have been releasedKenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....
Kenny: Everyone wins?!?!
Captain Tenneal: Get it on!Comment
