What if they did this to show off how they can easily implement changes to the next gen games? The menus suck, what if they did it on purpose just to show how easily things can be changed.? I don't know maybe I'm reaching, if xbox one can change their policy as quick as they did when everyone was mad about it in sure 2k can change some things just as easy. IMO

Re: Why I'm Pissed At 2K Sports

It's like 2K has become EA, but if you understand what corporations are and their ultimate goals it should come as no surprise.

I have no problem with them squeezing extra revenue out of individuals who rather not have to actually play to earn their abilities. That has never been a problem. The problem has and will always be about companies taking short cuts to try and replicate what a sim experience feel like. While fortunately 2K seems to still put out a strong sim product on court the modes are taking huge steps backwards in the sim department. Modes are equally as important as the gameplay itself.

Adding an RPG element to sports games has proven difficult in the past and will be for many generation consoles to come. That doesn't mean the essence of BAP or MyGM can't be pulled off effectively. You have to understand what the mode was meant to represent. As a person I want to digitally create a player(or management) and take the same exact path all other players(or managers) before my digitally created player(or manager) had to take. Short cuts kills the purpose so of course if you build the entire mode around short cuts it's going to be lacking.

I would add this and this is an assumption on my part. However if 2K had not gone the route of RPG sports game with all the corny dialogue and cut scene they would have had time to do a regular association mode. Thus giving players more choice which is key. They could have setup a long grinding MYPlayer mode and also given those who rather not the ability to just do the all-star game thing you only get now.

Didnt Wang bring some "really talented"EA engineers with him when he came back? lol

2k started getting funky with auto-save , vc, less editing, etc about that time

RPG elements isn't so bad if it is done the right way. In no way, shape or form should VC be incorporated in an RPG like theme. It should all be based on XP points and that's it. Madden CCM does a good job rewarding a player with XP points based on what they did in a game, accomplishments, what they said to the media, and in practice, that's all I'm asking 2k to do with theirs. XP points to allocate

I would do away with points almost altogether. That's what the game and practice is for. My dream is that practice affects a players skill attributes, games affects a players BBall IQ attributes, and that we can get points in the offseason to upgrade a players physical attributes.

Not sure why both modes couldn't have existed. So hopefully they will give us consumers/fanbase that option for 2K15. Not really feeling 2K's restrictive plan for the future of the franchise. Especially when it comes to VC being involved in pretty much everything you do now in the game. And don't even get me started on the fact there is no create-a-player, create-a-team, etc.
Forget 2K15, I want them to submit an update for 2K14 that fixes this mess. 2K on NextGen was far from perfect and had similar issues with trade logic but at least they gave you the option to edit everything and you didn't have to earn/spend stupid VC points to do basic Association tasks. I'm pretty pissed right now that I just dropped 400 bucks on a PS4 primarily to play this one game.

I understand what you're saying I would like that if they did that. I feel that if I were to use a unacheiving player like a Josh Selby and go bananas with him, I should be able to boost his ratings during the season and not have to wait until the end to do it. Someone who wins a most improved player or MVP or defensive player of the year should be perceived that way, but how? If I lead the league in steals with someone I want the option to be able to apply a pick pocket sig skill or boost ONLY his steal rating. Idk but your concept is good too

You guys do know 2k wasn't obligated to come out with a next gen title and could have just released 2k14 on ps3 and 360?? And now you guys are whining? 2 games in one year? Smh

Agreed, what NBA 2K team has pulled off for their first next-gen title is nothing short of astonishing, especially compared to other next-gen titles. Heck at least in NBA you have choice, Live will be out in a few days.

Companies don't release products out of the goodness of their hearts. If there was no revenue to be made this game wouldn't have seen the light of day.

Lol slater james took the words out of my mouth. Of course they aren't obligated. No company is obligated to make any product. It's not like they stood outside of stores and gave them away for free to anyone who purchased a next gen system. People paid full price for it. I feel like the complaints are valid.

Agreed, but no one is forcing you to buy it, especially after all the info we had prior to the game releasing lol. I informed myself and skipped current gen (pc version) and know full well what I'm getting with this, I know it's not perfect but I'm satisfied.

That's fine, just let me pay $150 for the game, give me back control, and don't make VC an integral part of the game.

lol this thread is hilarious. by all accounts people are blown away with 2k14 NG and the amount of features that made it in. I don't think many takes these accusations seriously. don't get me wrong anyone who misses a particular option deserves the right to mention wanting it. but this attempt to blow this out of proportion is funny.

This is about the direction of the franchise, not just this being the 1st next gen title. They are trying to create a RPG type feel in a sports title over the more traditional sports mode. It appears like they are failing and as a result are losing some hardcore fans.
