Player's Story (optional): During his senior year in high school, Michael Anthony was being recruited as an athletic point guard but he was also a highly touted quarterback prospect. He had scholarship offers for football from TCU and UTSA, but many small schools from Texas offered him scholarships for basketball. Eventually, Anthony made up his mind that basketball was what he had the most potential in and decided to play for North Texas. Through hard work in the offseason, Anthony was already known as the star of the lowly basketball program at North Texas. The mean green jumped out to a quick 9-0 start with Anthony leading the way with 10.5 PPG and 7.6 APG. In the teams 10th game, he went down with multiple ankle injuries that affected him for the rest of the season. After many missed games and poor performances, NT missed the NCAA tourney with a 16-12 record. Anthony came back and dominated his sophomore season. He shattered NCAA records in both 3 pt shooting % (54%) and assists per game (11.3) while leading NT to a 24-4 record and a 9 seed in the tournament. After routing Texas A&M in the first round, NT lost a close one to Duke while Anthony had a triple double. Anthony's deadeye shooting and amazing ability to rack up assists makes him one of the top point guards in the draft.
