Re: Improving Audio and Atmosphere
Hah, that's almost the exact same thing I did with my vid in 2k14

I also made this back when I made my immersion thread. Really makes the game "pop" more.

Re: Improving Audio and Atmosphere
Man, it's fun to dream. Sometimes we wonder what else is left for 2K to do when it comes to improving their game in critical elements. This is absolutely one of those things. Whenever the audio is finally on point (no easy task), I think we'll look back and wonder how we ever put up with the current system.Hah, that's almost the exact same thing I did with my vid in 2k14

I feel the same way about buzzer beaters and how no basketball game has ever really nailed their essence. But I digress.Comment

Re: Improving Audio and Atmosphere
Pretty good. I just don't like how everyone moves so fast in 2K14ng. 2K15 has a more realistic feel to it when it comes to player movement/speed. But great job though.Hah, that's almost the exact same thing I did with my vid in 2k14

Re: Improving Audio and Atmosphere
No matter what happens, I am PUSHING THE HECK out of this when a 2K17 wish list thread is made. And I'm gonna tweet the devs EVERY DAY until they acknowledge it haha......
Without playing 16, I am sure they have made such a solid game...... I just want the sound to match now....Comment

Re: Improving Audio and Atmosphere
YESSSSSSS! that 1999 outdoor ball rim clang is like nails on a chalk board..
First off the rim sounds are awful and its been the same since dreamcast. I'd like 2k to incorporate some real NBA sounds with the offense, making jumpers which right now sounds like an old hollow cylinder from a museum, and the dunks which are just bad. Here are about 3 sounds below just so I won't overflow the post too much.chuckcross.bandcamp.com

Re: Improving Audio and Atmosphere
OS or someone simply needs to have a sit down with the 2k audio engineer and see why things are still the way they are in NBA2k. That is all. Why isn't 2k's audio guru interacting with the community?Comment

Re: Improving Audio and Atmosphere
Alright guys I want to start an audio thread for 2k to read since we're on nex gen. I know that the arena sounds have been improved, and I hear a variation on things like arena specific music which is cool, but they can take it a step further and post some video ideas if you'd like, because that's what im going to start with.

Things to notice
Crowd reaction, rim sound (and its noticeable bend), Announcer reaction

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/5uRN7iJ5CqQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/JUbQ2FMtaFI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Crowd reaction, Player scream
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/1x-Gxm3wz-k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
This is how a long jumper should sound hitting the rim hard
Rim sound, announcer, crowd (kinda muffled)
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/GT0kE3LlgFg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Adding more stuff like this would go a long way in the game
Okay here is a bonus one of a bunch of game winners. Varying crowd sounds, how the rim sounds and the announcers as well as how players react
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/mE0ptkNYVRI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Another dunk crowd announcer reaction that would sound fine in this game

Re: Improving Audio and Atmosphere
The sound of the net when making a jumper is the worst. It sounds like someone's biting in an apple every time. Theres only one sound sample for this and it is as bad as you can imagine.
Not sure if they kept that for nostalgic reasons over the years as it is VERY simple to change.Diamond MAGIC

But rim and net swish sound is different (much better) when u shootaround as high school player in My Career and it changes to the terrible ones once u reach nba (or on college changes already, don't remember)The sound of the net when making a jumper is the worst. I made quick video of it, you get these sounds in a shootaround after first high school game .

Re: Improving Audio and Atmosphere
More squeaking shoes and better net sounds. I listen to the NBA on xm radio quite a bit and their shoes are amazingly squeaky. They call me Mr. Thread CoolerComment
