Given all of the missing and incomplete features that plague the Online Leagues mode, it seems it would be easier at this point to do away with it entirely and introduce a small patch to incorporate online multiplayer in the MyLeague mode. This single player mode already has everything lacking from the online leagues, not only in terms of customization with various sliders, but barebones features that should be standard and we shouldn't have to beg for (see above standings menu issue).
If shortcuts are taken in fixing current issues, guaranteed there will be large groups of 2K15 players left unsatisfied. A simple patch to fix the barebones issues with the current online leagues, such as editing rotations and viewing sortable standings, would work in the short term. However, it leaves those players looking to play in online leagues with just a handful of friends, and hoping to fill out the rest of the league with CPU players, out in the cold. This also appears to limit us to a single season with no player progression, as the current leagues interface doesn't seem equipped to handle multiple seasons as is.
That being said, it seems highly unlikely for a patch to come out at this point and fully add an online association mode with multiple progressive seasons, on top of the online leagues mode already present. 2K hasn't given us one working online franchise mode in years...realistically, why would they suddenly give us two via a patch now?
Do away with the broken online leagues, yet skip on the large task of adding an entirely new online association game mode. Just add multiplayer and administration features to the already existing and already highly customizable MyLeague mode.
All problems solved with minimal effort and change to the game interface. This could all be incorporated in one short patch seemingly.
It's very tough to enjoy the online product as it is, and I suffered through a barebones nextgen experience last year already.
SHORT VERSION: online leagues are broken & online association is missing - instead of fixing one game mode or adding a new one, remove online leagues as they are entirely, then patch in multiplayer and administrative options to the new single player MyLeague mode.
Everyone is happy and it's the road of least resistance for the devs.
