Re: Online leagues 2k15, The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Given all of the missing and incomplete features that plague the Online Leagues mode, it seems it would be easier at this point to do away with it entirely and introduce a small patch to incorporate online multiplayer in the MyLeague mode. This single player mode already has everything lacking from the online leagues, not only in terms of customization with various sliders, but barebones features that should be standard and we shouldn't have to beg for (see above standings menu issue).

If shortcuts are taken in fixing current issues, guaranteed there will be large groups of 2K15 players left unsatisfied. A simple patch to fix the barebones issues with the current online leagues, such as editing rotations and viewing sortable standings, would work in the short term. However, it leaves those players looking to play in online leagues with just a handful of friends, and hoping to fill out the rest of the league with CPU players, out in the cold. This also appears to limit us to a single season with no player progression, as the current leagues interface doesn't seem equipped to handle multiple seasons as is.

That being said, it seems highly unlikely for a patch to come out at this point and fully add an online association mode with multiple progressive seasons, on top of the online leagues mode already present. 2K hasn't given us one working online franchise mode in years...realistically, why would they suddenly give us two via a patch now?

Do away with the broken online leagues, yet skip on the large task of adding an entirely new online association game mode. Just add multiplayer and administration features to the already existing and already highly customizable MyLeague mode.

All problems solved with minimal effort and change to the game interface. This could all be incorporated in one short patch seemingly.

It's very tough to enjoy the online product as it is, and I suffered through a barebones nextgen experience last year already.

SHORT VERSION: online leagues are broken & online association is missing - instead of fixing one game mode or adding a new one, remove online leagues as they are entirely, then patch in multiplayer and administrative options to the new single player MyLeague mode.

Everyone is happy and it's the road of least resistance for the devs.

excellent post, in addition to that. you can built the best online association in the world, but it means nothing if you can not play lag free or at least with minimal lag online. two tasks work together. online association + stable and responsive online gaming.

Re: Online leagues 2k15, The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Bringing myleague online is not as simple as a copy paste of the offline version to online. I don't pretend to be a dev but I know it will be a massive undertaking. No doubt that is the ultimate goal for all of us online franchise heads so no disagreement there. In the mean time we need some of these basic admin functions potentially patched in THIS year. Last year current gen 2k14 was a lost year. To the extent that many of us stayed on last gen 2k14 in order to enjoy the OA. Why must we suffer another lost year while they supposedly build a more robust OA for current gen 2k16, which is pure speculation. For all we know this could be the beginning of the end for leagues and OAs as we know it if we don't make our voices heard. Baby steps fellas, then we will shoot for the mother lode.

We found the solution finally, don't make a roster under "injury free", make it under the official 2k roster then it should work. We got 6 ppl btw

I guess a workaround roster rotations is making a roster full of 13 people. Removing any 14-15 players so every player on every roster is "playable".

This is exactly what my league decided to do as well. We will do an offline draft assigning the best FAs in the order of lowest ranked teams to highest. It's the best solution for competitive balance. If others have a better system for FA allocation, please share. Then we will ask each owner to pare down their roster to the best 13, not according to ratings, because as it stands the highest rated 13 players are available for League play. So you might have a low rated guy who has the a high individual attribute rating that you prefer over a higher rated player "overall".

For anyone who started an online league successfully with custom rosters for a fantasy draft, can you go through it step by step? I'd appreciate it.

You mean the motherload? Anyway, thrilled you agree with me, but I disagree with your baby steps argument. I think you failed to understand the logic of my original post completely, because I essentially said that a baby steps approach would ultimately doom us. Why? If a small fix comes out now for Online Leagues as they are, simply to fix basic errors, chances are that will be the extent of changes or additions to the mode for this year. That will make things playable, yes, but it will also ignore those players seeking the full features of online association. Once online leagues are patched, what are the chances 2K creates an entirely new Online Association mode, when the two are essentially the same thing in their eyes?

I'm not suggesting that patching online into MyLeague is a simple undertaking. My point is that it logically makes the most sense. It doesn't take one to be or pretending to be a dev to reach that conclusion.

You can hope for a patch now and a new game mode next year, but it just doesn't make sense to patch online leagues if you're only going to bring out a more complete version of the exact same game mode next year, ditching the mode you just patched up. If your worried about devs workload with my suggestion, I don't see how this would rectify that, as they are essentially doing twice the work.

It just doesn't seem realistic that both the current online leagues and an online association mode will coexist, so why not just do away with what is broken? The size of the undertaking itself aside, patching online into MyLeague eliminates the concept of possibly having both a redundant online league and an online association mode, and does so using interfaces already established within the game for single player. It's not like we're asking them to add any features which aren't already in the game, aside from basic admin and schedule control. We're not asking for the glamorous features of MyGm either, things which would be cumbersome to adapt to online multiplayer like player meetings. We just want the options and control of MyLeague.

I just want to say this thread started as a negative spot for me, but reading through some of these ideas have given me hope with all the workarounds and things of that nature. Hopefully next year, we will have a thread saying "remember we the old days when we couldn't do etc." but for now, I enjoy watching guys try to make the best of a bad situation.

I have an idea for the league I'm going to run this year and I want to know if you guys think it is feasible...

We will try to run multiple seasons with drafts and free agency...

I know that it is not in the game, but with custom rosters it could be done.

We would hold offseasons on the forums and move the players and draft picks on the custom roster that we will upload to run season 2.

                        Could this work?
                        Sideline Football League
                        SFL Live Host

SFL BOWL XIII Champion (49ers, M13)

Yes it could work, but you'd have to establish a salary cap system and determine the values of each player counting towards the cap. As it stands you probably won't see much of the lower tiered teams being taken in leagues without a draft mechanic to improve them with.

You could also go the fantasy draft route every season, not my favorite idea, but an idea nonetheless.

Hey guys, sorry to be a pain, but I am just looking for answers. My league members are depending on me to give them a reason why this is.

Aside from stats and records not recording, is there even a point in playing OA? If I can play someone, lets say on 11/5 vs Miami, and I beat him, yet after the game I can still play him again on 11/5 vs Miami, whats the point of playing?

Just looking for answers to that and to why stats and records dont record?

Hey man, sorry for the delayed response. I feel your frustration with the games not registering in your league. Can you provide more information about your league setup? How many users are in your league? Did you use the default or custom roster? Have any games registered at all or is it hit or miss? Several people, including myself have tested small sample size leagues of 2 to 4 members, and have verified that the games are registering. There was a time in which our the games were not registering on release day, but from wedsnesday to today, the games have been registering for most people; again this is with small sample size leagues. My league of 30 people are still in the midst of getting the rosters and playbooks customized, so we haven't verified a fully loaded league with regards to the games registering. Obviously, it is not registering for your league; this is what I was alluding to in an earlier post when I said that I hoped games registering would not be hit or miss. I would recommend starting over in a fresh league if you guys aren't already too deep with games played. If that is not an option, after games are played, you can simulate the win or losses for your members; this would be an immerson killer since the stats wouldn't be reflective of the actual games played. Ugggh!...2k needs to fix this ASAP. Without games registering, this mode will be beyond repair and unplayable even with all of our work arounds. Can anyone please verify today if their games are registering?

Aside from stats and records not recording, is there even a point in playing OA? If I can play someone, lets say on 11/5 vs Miami, and I beat him, yet after the game I can still play him again on 11/5 vs Miami, whats the point of playing?

Just looking for answers to that and to why stats and records dont record?

                                THANKS IN ADVANCE
The few games I have tested in my test league have registered with stats from the game. Sometimes it takes a couple of minutes but they do register. Right now the servers are very unstable so I am sure that has something to do with it. Once that calms down hopefully you should be able to see your games. Best bet is to keep trying.

I've only have one game that didn't and that was a couple nights ago in which the servers were in and out.
