Title is misleading. It should be Online leagues 2k15, The Ugly, The Uglier, The Ugliest.

I don't play in an online league anymore, but this is still heart wrenching to read.

Custom rosters and settings means you can play real roster games for a whole year as opposed to playing with outdated rosters from june to october every year.

I give 2k a c minus or d plus for online leagues this year. A high enough grade to pass but not impressive at all.
            Thanks for the info ame.

Thank God for our league. Looks like another year of this https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...jd1BncWc#gid=1

That sounds so pathetic. We shouldnt have to settle for this.

Not for 5 years in a row and with all the endless threads discussing what we want in online leagues! Not like the info isn't out there. Just not a priority for them. If vac was a part of online leagues I wonder how much love it would get?

First the good, lest everyone attest nothing but negativity to this post.

We have the ability to play 12 min HOF sim settings, which if nothing else will make this mode playable when the bickering is over and the dust has settled. Number of teams, games played, and playoffs are all customizable as previously discussed prior to release.

After selecting your league options, you create the league with the amount of teams you want ranging from 2-30. 2K previously mentioned that you could use CPU teams to fill the league. That is not true. Only human controlled teams are allowed and you cannot start the league until all said humans have joined, be it 2 or 30.
I thought this promise only applied to MyLeague. Not Online Leagues.

Lets get straight to the point and discuss the all important OPTIONS that 2k has given us this year. We have 3 sub menus of "League Settings", "Game Management" and "Leave League." League settings brings you right back to a grayed screen verifying the settings chosen prior to creating the league; see the first screen shot for reference. Once chosen they cannot be modified in any way whatsoever. Want to adjust games played, number of teams, difficulty and gamestyle or trades in season? Tough luck. Nothing to see here as this is not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.
I understand not letting you change the things that fundamentally affect the schedule (number of teams and games). But I don't get not letting you change quarter length and other settings. Even the playoff format should be changable as long as you're not at that point in the season yet.

The important thing are the missing settings that we have grown accustomed to. That's right fellas; no admin options to kick a user or do anything of remotely administrative. Thats all there is to league settings. Can you imagine having to ask a bad user to please kindly leave the league as the admin no has no recourse of booting unruly members? You can leave the league but 2k wont allow for booting members? Brilliant.
This probably goes back to allowing CPU controlled teams. If you kick a player, CPU has to take control. But you can leave the league... Makes no sense. Brilliant is right.

As of now, all you can do is simulate, view gamercard, and cancel when you click on a scheduled game or game result. Again, I cannot verify reset options until a game is played between humans.
                        Looking forward to your findings.

Lets keep it moving to the "Trades Menu." You can only trade up to 3 players at a time. There are no longer veto capability so that is a plus. The downside being that there is no admin option to block, reject, or nullify trades. Obviously we knew with no OA, that salary cap will no longer affect trades so it will be up to the user solely on accepting and declining trades.
Wait. There is no approval process? Really? Please be sure.

Another let down is the "team roster" menu. My friends, this is simply a disaster in every sense of the word. There is no ability to set rotations, situational lineups, or wait for it.........SIGN FREE AGENTS. You can only cycle through the lg members rosters. The work around here is to do an offline draft with your lg members in auctioning and assigning FAs prior to uploading your custom roster. I know I am shaking my head too.

With That said fellas, adidtional omissions that I can confirm are that there are no practice play, freestyle, post moves, or practice of any kind in online leagues this year. Thats right fellas, that wasnt a misprint, you cannot even freestyle practice. Gotta practice offline as a work around. Yup, keep shaking your head.
Practicing offline is OK with me. As long as you can actually do it.

One last downer is that I have repeatedly encountered a glitch where you are continously spammed with a "please wait" message bot that prevents you from accessing the league once you log out. To the extent that you either have to turn off your console or simply switch profiles in order for it stop so that you can simply play any other mode. This could be due to the 2k servers not being up to snuff prior to release day, so lets refrain from total condemnation till the game releases officially.
                        Agreed.

But, this is some damning information here man. I've not played this mode in a while as they've all died for reasons that vary. But all can point back to the features you mentioned. Looks like I'm still on vacation from this mode for a least another year. And that's not cool.

You mean like, sort of what we've been doing for the past 4 years? I have not frequented every post every in Operation Sports but I do frequent it enough to know that the Devs are quick to respond to offline modes and brag about stuff they've been working on but when it comes to other topics such as server issues and online associations it's crickets. Time and time again. There have been HUGE posts in the past with suggestions and ways we can improve online association only to find out that in 2K15 we get LESS than what we had a year ago, that is where the frustration comes in. Especially when the excitement and anticipation of the game prerelease to receive bad news like this, wouldnt have been so bad if everything was put on the table, so people can decide if they want to commit a full 82 game season or even preorder the game. That spreadsheet in the last page was a perfect example of how I feel like online association guys are the most passionate, before someone disagrees with me this is MY opinion.

MAdden OA is damn near perfect. 2k should go steal one of the developers over there since they seem to be incompetent for the last 4 yrs

I'm as disappointed as you are, but is this REALLY needed here? A great, constructively critical thread gets turned into trash with post like this. As if the other game REALLY drives what VC does. And it's not as if THAT game has *everything* you need for online league/association modes anyway. Just saying: let's just keep it about THIS game, please.

Anyways, This has been the case for so many years now it's ridiculous! How long til we get our needs met? It's taken steps back in the last 5 years. Just a few simple things would make us all happy. Some we want have been in previous games for crying out loud.

I have a feeling and I'm sure in 16 or 17 we will get my league online and it will be the full mode and awesome, but I'm tired of the whole wait til next year chant after 5 years of the same thing.

It's so simple too, all we want is control and commish options. I mean we can't even boot a guy from the league? Wtf?! So he could just ruin the league single handidly? And no free agent signings? It's almost comical. Who was working on this mode? I need names so I can harass the hell out of them on twitter! Lol

The thing is for ME I only play online leagues. I won't play random guys online play now. So for me this is very disappointing! I could care less about anything else except plays and playbooks. My excitement level of this game went from 100 to 50...
I even avoided online matches when they took out the ability to edit sliders in player matches.
