Re: Why do contested jumpers continue to go in?
lmao yeah its ridiculous. People say superstar sim feel great but I greatly disagree with that. The cpu is hella OP in that difficulty. Contested shots go in, every one of their players become dennis rodman when going for rebounds, and their is just so many stupid mistakes that your cpu teammates do on defense. And the worst of all, the post game. I have a bunch of scrubs and no range centers hitting post fade mid range shots on me. Koufos was out there lookin like dirk nowitzki hitting all these post fade shots from the FT line. Ridiculous. Tried tweaking the sliders a bit but it's really not helping much in that aspect.Comment

Re: Why do contested jumpers continue to go in?
I haven't noticed contested shots go in at the high percentage you're taking about.
By contested shot, do you mean when a defender has their hand up and jumps to block the shot? Because they definitely improved on that from last year. Spacing is perfect now. For example, if I do a dribble move that gets you going in one direction (I love the dribbling this year) and I have space to get my shot off with enough space, it doesn't matter how hard you jump or shout as the defender, because as the shooter, my shot was already in motion by the time you reacted to the shot.
I'll give a real life example. Let's say I have the ball at one of the corners at mid range, I do a jabstep and get my defender to react to it, I focus on the rim and get into my shot as if I were open. His jump to defend my shot won't effect me because by the time he sees its not a pump fake (oh I'll get you jumping if you're an aggressive Tony Allen wannabe) it will be too late. My focus was on the rim, and the amount of space you gave me when you reacted to my jabstep was enough to shoot normal. Do you think that his jump or yelling will effect me when I'm already so far in the motion? Those screenshots you posted, excluding the last one, show exactly what I'm talking about. Those are late jumps, regardless if it's 3 people. Also, Superstar Sim is the difficulty you want to play on. If the CPU is still going 18/18 idk what to tell you.
This year, the game has taken spacing into account and the game is much better because of it. Step back shots and shots after the dribble are easier to execute than last year, due to the spacing. Defense and offense is superb this year because of it.
If you mean contested shots as in contact shots going in, as in physical play.. Like shoving a player while he shoots or making him change his shot, and it still goes in at a high percentage on SS sim, then you need to edit them sliders. If you're on MyCareer and this is happening, then reinstall or restart another file, because it's not happening to me or any of the people I've seen post about it.
I'm playing on the Pistons in my career right now. Josh Smith took one 3 when he was wide open when the shot clock was running down, and he missed. He also doesn't take contested shots and when he does, he usually misses them. Same goes for the CPU. When I play good defense, I love being awarded. Just remember, you can play crazy defense on someone and they'll still somehow manage to make it. It happens. If it's happening too much, idk what to say to you, honestly. Either you're exaggerating or you're one of the unlucky few.
(Not so) Stealth edit: keep in mind that MyCareer mode is a story based mode, and there will be scripted events where you will either get injured/miss shots/get scored on unrealistically just to support the story. MyCareer doesn't reflect the rest of the game in terms of simulation gameplay from what I've experienced.Last edited by Rell7thirty; 10-12-2014, 04:36 PM.Comment

Wow, are you playing MyCareer on SS/Sim? If so, that's incredible. In all the games i've played on MyCareer at this difficulty, the cpu NEVER shoots under 50% from the game. the amount of BS that goes on is frustratingI haven't noticed contested shots go in at the high percentage you're taking about.

Re: Why do contested jumpers continue to go in?
Exactly, ill be on the lookout for the thread "CPU shoots 85% from the field, the game is broken" next.Whenever I see these threads, the first thing I sense is someone being butthurt because they lost some games. But I know that's not fair. But to say "every" contested shot goes in is a bit much. We know it's not every shot. So stop with that. But it would be FAR more helpful to actually know how many do go in? If the CPU is shooting at realistic percentages, then there is no way this can be true. Showing a handful of contested shots doesn't show anything. It's merely an example. The majority of shots in the NBA are contested to some degree. They do go in. NBA players are good. But it would be great if someone posted a game to make this case.
And HOF is out of the window.#HellaBandz

Bro post vids..not saying you dont have a case but posting pics of the contested shot is alright....but theres no proof of it going in catch my drift...maybe they would listen if 100 percent of the evidence was posted instead of 50 percent .....ya feel me?"Wisdom is ALWAYS an overmatch for strength"........The Zen MasterComment

Re: Why do contested jumpers continue to go in?
Re: Why do contested jumpers continue to go in?
How is nobody realizing that this issue is MyCareer vs. normal gameplay?
If you're playing the normal 5v5 game then it's tuned fairly well and contested shots won't fall at a 100% rate, but if you're in MyCareer contested shots fall at about an 80% rate.
I really want the devs to address why the game is radically different between every other mode and MyCareer, it's their most played mode, there's no reason it should be so infuriating to play.
I have yet to hear a dev even acknowledge this. It would be nice to at least know that they are aware of the problem. I would also like to know why we can't just get sliders in MyCareer. We've been asking for MyCareer sliders for years now. With sliders, this wouldn't even be an issue.Comment

Re: Why do contested jumpers continue to go in?
The fact that you are restarting games when things don't go your way flushes any credibility you had down the toilet.Hey Czar is just not just that it's the sequence of events, teams don't play like their real like counter parts, players that are not stars play too much like stars and are getting into the lane way too often and making those contested shots, I should not see 5-9" Thomas making shots over Noah in the paint, I can't count how many times i have restarted the game after see BS like that over and over again, it takes the fun out of the game when I know the only way i can win is to make an unrealistic number of my shots because the CPU will make most of their open shots as well as a high number of contested, maybe it the fact that blocking has been toned down that which is causing this effect.#HellaBandz

You can't adjust sliders because you'd be able to rack up VC too easily. Just tune everything to your favor, drop 200 points a game, and make 10,000VC a game. There's probably some counter to it, but it'll punish people that want to play sim as well. It's a lose-lose unfortunately.I have yet to hear a dev even acknowledge this. I don't see how it would punish people who wanna play sim because it's a single player mode, but okay.
They could easily be implemented if you made them exclusive to offline play. You earn skill points instead of vc and you won't be given online options like the Park if you choose that route. 2k will still make plenty of money from micro transactions and I will be able to play the game with the appropriate sliders. Sounds fair to me.Comment

All the more evidence(if we didn't need more) that the greedy monetizing of sports games is ruining the experience for gamers.
I just wish I had a better rig so I could of gotten the game on PC in hopes that eventually some nodders will be able to mod in sliders.Comment

Re: Why do contested jumpers continue to go in?
I'm not that experienced with share factory on ps4, but everytime i have tried to save a vid it does so in 14-15 minute clips and i'd have to chop up the video
simply takes too much time and i'm not going to do it
no reason to make this up and it isn't like it is just one person complaining....this problem seems to be very universal to almost everyone playing this game
the first time i posted those photos something like 7 or 8 people clicked "like" on that comment.....so this isn't a figment of my imagination.....there is also a nice pic of shaq clearly blocking a shot that i posted in which his hand is traveling straight through the ball
edit: and i really doubt it will be fixed to honest.....just like 2k never fixed under powered blocks in 2k13 or blocking centers with point guards in 2k14...i honestly believe that this is just something we will be stuck with until next yearLast edited by manu1433; 10-12-2014, 05:14 PM.Comment

Yeah, superstar sim. my team is doing horrible but I'm the 3rd leading scorer for rookies. My percentage is getting better (it's in the 30s lol shot timing took a while to get used to and I took a lot of bad shots) but overall I make a lot more shots now. I scored 27 off the bench the other day and 25 before that.Comment
