Re: Petition To Patch Input Delay

Don't know about PS$ or XB1, but there is definitely delay on PC as well. I posted it before, but it's to the point where when I try to block a drive, my player jumps in time to goaltend the shot.I think we all know there's always been too much input lag online, but there's definitely too much input delay playing offline this year.

It's immediately noticeable having played the PC version and now playing on PS4. There was no such delay on PC, but there's input lag on PS4 to the point where you're having to anticipate rebounding misses, reactions to movement, even in-game menus. Heck, even change of possessions when inbounding take much longer!

Since it's fine on PC I'm only concerned it might be a hardware issue with the PS4 HDD being too slow or something else that can't be worked around. If I recall Battlefield 4 had this issue and was patched (took a while but they did it) so I hope this is a high priority for those in charge.

and no, it's not a fps or lack of hardware issue. My machine has 16 GB RAM DDR3 Dual Channel memory. The graphics memory is GDDR5 with 2GB of dedicated memory per card for a total of 4 GB of dedicated graphics memory. And it's a 4th Gen. I7; not that it matters.PSN: KarlMarx24Comment

2K Support's Reponse: The developers are aware of the various lag issues that are present throughout various regions and are working around the clock in order to rectify these problems so that game play is smooth for everyone online.Comment

Re: Petition To Patch Input Delay

Anyone that does not play online should remove themselves from this thread.

Every 2K I have played has had input lag online from 2K12 till today. However, this year the lag makes the game almost unplayable. It is PATHETIC that 2K hasn't addressed this issue in 5 years time along with their terrible servers. This is 2014 great online play should be a top priority instead of shunned for more 'important' things like new kd shoes.Comment

Re: Petition To Patch Input Delay

Games for me have gotten more enjoyable...the lag seems a little better, but I have also jumped from 2K camera to Broadcast - which seems to have helped my defense and shooting. So that could have more to do with it than any change in the lag.Comment

 Petition To Patch Input Delay

For the record I'm one of the few who play a lot of different game modes. I play at the Park, My Career, MyTeam and just last night I started a MyGM season.

I can assure you there is a noticeable lag online. So much so that playing on ball D is extremely frustrating. Getting perfect releases on jump shots is nearly impossible.

Offline the game is much more enjoyable though I do notice that when I press triangle on D to block a CPU post shot or drive the animation does nothing. Either my player will take a hit and fall to the ground or won't jump. Both resulting in the CPU scoring an easy lay up.

The main reason I started to play MyGM IS because I can no longer deal with the online lag.

Next gen definitely needs that patch the delay doesn't allow you to play proper defense & it doesn't allow you to properly execute the moves.Follow me:https://twitter.com/OVzBack

Servers probably are fine but when you have a million people online at once of course it will be laggyAnyone that does not play online should remove themselves from this thread.

Re: Petition To Patch Input Delay

This has to be one of the most frustrating responses that people can ever give.....

Nba 2k is 1 v 1. 2 people is all it needs to sustain per match. Cod has up to 16 people to sustain per match and I cannot even notice any input lag. 2k simply has to do better, there are no excuses at this point.

I can deal with previous years 2k lags, but this year is just to much

Oh and cod probably has 10 fold more people online at once then 2k (Insert kermit meme)Last edited by cgjgbpro; 11-18-2014, 08:44 PM.Comment

Re: Petition To Patch Input Delay

If the servers cannot handle a high volume of traffic it means it's overloading. The servers are either not optimize for max performance or just have insufficient resources for that volume of traffic.
Which means servers = is definitely NOT fine.Comment

Re: Petition To Patch Input Delay

First of all, I'm a fan of NBA 2K series, I have played NBA 2K series from 2K9. I was so excited this year, because there are a lot of exciting new features came out to the game.

But I found that the online part of this great game is totally unplayable! I have a 50M speed Ethernet network, when I play any online modes (e.g. 1. play with friends in quick game 2. Road to playoff in MyTeam 3. MyPark 4. the Stage), there is a 2-seconds-delay, which is unacceptable for a top sport game! A lot of players have the same situation. I play other games which also has online feature, like Call of Duty, FIFA 15, PES 2015 etc. which doesn't has such a severe online delay situation like 2K15.

It has been a month from release date. You guys and our players all know NBA 2K15 is a great basketball game, so please, do everyone who loves your game a favor, fix the network problem! EA can do better, Activition can do better, Blizzard can do better, Konami can do better. Why can't you guys? I don't believe 2K can't give all the fans a better network condition. Your online team waste the hard works from game producer, from Ronnie, LD2k or anyone who dedicated to this game.

I've heard that Dev team has 2 network expert to deal with the network this year. But I didn't see any improvement. May be you should hire other better guys to handle this network issue.

Let me say one more time, NBA 2K15 is the best basketball game of all time except the online part. Please don't let online part ruin the whole game. Please don't let hardcore fans down. We love NBA 2K series, so we support! Please fix the online part for god sake!Comment

Re: Petition To Patch Input Delay

I wish 2k would just tell us straight up what the deal is with the input delay and the terrible servers. The only other sports game I have is Madden and I don't understand why Madden has online lobbies but 2k doesn't. Does anyone know why 2k removed the online lobbies? I mean, at least with online lobbies you can look at the opponents ping and tell whether you should enter the match or not. 2night I'm going to jump into a quick match game on 2k and rate the lag between 1 and 5. Then I'm going to jump into an online Madden game and do the same. I'll reveal the results.Comment
