Well after I simmed a season on default settings, the regression looked good and realistic. It appears that while regression may not be fixed, it's at least very acceptable and I'll take it as a fix.

Re: NBA 2k15 Player Regression in MYLeague Testing
Hope this makes regression more realistic. Before there were too many guys losing too much in skills such as shooting at 28 or so. I have no problem with a few guys losing a little speed or quickness at 28, but outside shooting generally isn't something that goes south at 28.
My biggest issue is why guys would LOSE basketball IQ as they aged. 99% of players get more intelligent about the game, not less. Physical skills? Sure, regress by all means. But IQ? Just silliness to see a guy like Jose Calderon or Marc Gasol losing IQ points on his passing or shot selection. That's not how the NBA works.Comment

There are other factors that might play into progression as well: training, stats, playing time, chemistry, morale...Last edited by dregos; 03-14-2015, 08:15 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2k15 Player Regression in MYLeague Testing
ehh, the regression doesn't seem to be that complex. After season one of my 30 team MyLeague I saw across the board drops in IQ for numerous older players. Here is a list of guys who lost basketball IQ:
Taj Gibson
Anderson Vareajo
Mike Miller
Matt Barnes
Zach Randolph
Beno Udrih
Vince Carter
Kyle Korver
Luol Deng
Chris Anderson
Josh McRoberts
Alec Burks
Jose Calderon
Carlos Boozer
Kobe Bryant
Dirk Nowitzki
Joe Johnson
Brandon Jennings
Mike Dunleavy
Trevor Ariza
Joey Dorsey
Manu Ginobili
Tiago Splitter
Chris Kaman
David Lee
Nene Hilario
Now in a couple cases of younger guys like Jennings and Burks, I'm assuming it is related to their injuries. But again, take some speed (which they did) or vertical, not their IQ.
Now again this is all pre patch but the weirdest regressions for guys who suffered no injuries would be:
Jeff Green
Al Horford
Patrick Beverly
and most ridiculously of all....Andre Drummond.
Some other guys who seemed odd for going down were Singler, Augustin, James Johnson, etc. but even in real life role players tend to go up and down more than front line talents.Comment

Which attributes specifically (not letter grades) do you see dropping that shouldn't be? I would check but I won't be at the office for another couple of weeks, I just want to have something to go off of when I get back.Eleftherios "Leftos" Aslanoglou

Re: NBA 2k15 Player Regression in MYLeague Testing
I personally have no issue with guys losing speed, quickness, vertical, etc. at 29/30. I just don't think guys should lose shooting ability until mid 30s (legs go, e.g. Ray Allen IRL) and I don't think players should lose basketball IQ scores at all as they age.
I'll put up the category drops and players just in case but again this was pre-patch and all I have is letter grades. The number is the number they dropped overall:

Re: NBA 2k15 Player Regression in MYLeague Testing
I missed the part of your post where you said this was pre-Patch 4. Can you please try again after Patch 4 and this time keep an eye out for specific attributes? You should be able to switch to them on the progression screen.Eleftherios "Leftos" Aslanoglou

Re: NBA 2k15 Player Regression in MYLeague Testing
I use Poke's with SimWorld for injuries(also durability at 99) with my 42 for progression and 52 for in-season. It works even better -- Melo still 90 at 35 years old etc.Comment

Patch notes lied. You need to start a new save. Clearly they double checked before they made an unequivocal statement.Comment

Re: NBA 2k15 Player Regression in MYLeague Testing
The ending note on the patch notes about all fixes applying to existing saves is something that applies to 99% of fixes introduced in our patches, we do our best to make sure of that. However, as I mentioned already, any and all progression and regression tuning that was done for Patch 4 does require a new save. I'll reach out to get the Patch Notes corrected if possible.Eleftherios "Leftos" Aslanoglou
