You get what you ask for.
This, basically. Sure, some BS shots are gonna fall, that's what happens in basketball. You can only play good defense and hope it was enough to cause a miss. But it was ridiculous having to go like 3-14 on all wide open shots in some games. If you are successful in getting to the open spots or breaking your man down in order to get open, you should be rewarded with a higher volumes of makes.

No you are rewarded with a open shot attempt. Release, type of shot ,spot on floor and individual shot ratings still matter.

And what happens when you work for those wide open shot attempts, but because you're releasing the ball to where the meter is touching the white line with B+ and A- grades, you clang the ball 3 out of 12 times because the game dictated you should have a bad shooting game? Even when your shot is rated a 95? The shot meter was too unforgiving at times, especially considering the highest your offensive consistency can go is 50.

First problem- using meter instead of learning correct shot animation. Its been recommended many times here to turn it off. Slightly late or early is what you should strive for. Being open isn't enough and should never be.

On higher difficulties you have to learn hot/cold spots , whether player is good off dribble or only set shots , do badges help ( corner specialist, deadeye) , tendencies, etc etc

This game is ALOT more complicated than people here know. Having a 95 standing 3pt shot means nothing if u shoot off dribble while in a cold spot even if u consider that a open shot

I have a question : do anyone else my player go slow on fast breaks when they have the ball in their hand? I'm missing out on a bunch of fast break points due to the game slowing me down

I noticed my player getting slowed on fast breaks ever since patch #3 honestly. The cpu magically catches up most of the time from my experience.

                    JR Smith -1
                    Ilyasova -1
                    Shumpert -1
                    Horford -1
                    Deng -2
Kidd-Gilchrist -2 (played just 10 games due to injury)
                    Ty Lawson -1 (injury)
                    Embiid -2 (injury)
                    Aaron Gordon -1 (injury)
                    JJ Hickson -1
                    George Hill -1
                    Damjan Rudez -1
                    Roy Hibbert -1
                    Paul George -2 (injury)
                    Omer Asik -2
                    Jodie Meeks -2
                    Gerald Green -2
                    Wilson Chandley -1
                    Amir Johnson -1
                    Seraphin -1
                    Ariza -1
                    Josh Smith -3 (Torn Achilles)
Jeremy Lamb -2 (played 1 game)
                    Nikola Pekovic -2
                    Nicolas Batum -4 (Torn MCL)

That is EVERYBODY in MyLeague who regressed that was under 30 years old. Only a few guys above 30 y/o lossed more than 3 points (Tim Duncan, Pau Gasol, David Lee, Kevin Martin, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Anderson, Tony Allen, Turkoglu, Varejao, G. Wallace, Nene, Taj, and Zaza)

                    Regression seems to be fixed.
Hell no, Jeff Green just dropped 6 points at age 29 for me...and JR Smith dropped 4 points...definitely was not fixed.

As an FYI, any and all progression/regression tuning only applies to new saves started after installing Patch #4.

I've never had Steph Curry drop. Even before patch. And I've never seen Jeff Green lose 6 points in a season. Were there injuries? How many games did they play the season prior?

On superstar atleast, shooting is too easy. Also seems like they increased player speed a notch or three.

You can 'know' the shot animation all you want (I know Jordan's release nearly like the back of my hand) but nobody is ever going to hit the release on point every single time, and in some circumstances, you're just going to have games where lag can mess with the release timing. Thing is, the game sometimes punishes you because of it. Especially when the other team goes on runs. If you so happen to play the Rec religiously, you'd see what I'm talking about.

My player literally ha every single hot spot on the court, and most of the time, I can shoot in the 60%-ish range. But sometimes, no matter what I do, unless I hit perfect release after perfect release, I can't buy a bucket on wide open shots. Now I'm not saying I expect to make every shot, but I do expect to make a good percentage of them when I'm shooting smart shots. Going 30%-40% from the field with all hot spots and nothing but wide open shots is unacceptable, especially when it can sometimes happen in back-to-back games. All because they were 'slightly early' or 'slightly late.'
