The one and only thing 2k14 does that makes me play it sometimes still is the modding community. Ultimate Base Roster is still the best thing to ever happen to 2k.

For those who don't know what it is, it adds entire rosters complete with accurate cyber faces for each year for every player for every NBA season ever. And every draft class ever again with accurate cyber faces.

So my favorite thing to do is start a franchise the first year the Bobcats were a team (to have the full 30 real teams) and add each draft class up to 2016 and then start over with draft classes at 1960. And then do a forty year franchise all with real cyber faced players.

2k15 doesn't have this and that's a damn shame. Literally the most fun I've had with a 2k video game.

I totally agree 2k14 allows modding of rosters and being able to do that is great. I've used it to create classic teams and also 2k14 created players look more realistic than what I've seen of the stick figures 2k15 have for it's players. I've adjusted the sliders to fit my play style and with the occasional passing failure to a player, I admit is irritating, but watching others play 2k15 I feel I'm watching an arcade game. I'm all about the classics anyway and not interested in playing with current teams. Maybe once in a while I'll play.

I actually popped 14 in just to revisit and I don't know if it's better but it's definitely different and I like it. Obviously there are many flaws which puts 15 over 14 as the better game but overall I think I do prefer 14. Lighting is a lot better, gameplay is faster and less sluggish and dribbling is way better. Game is much more free flowing in my opinion.

Ya I was surprised at how much smoother and quicker it was than 15. If I could add only a few things from 15 to 14 I would have the perfect 2K game imo.

Just put in nba 2k15, forgot how great this game truly was. It really is an underrated basketball game because of the online shortcomings. While nothing really jumps out at you as "wow" like 14 was when we saw it for the first time, 15 is the best basketball game to date. For a video game that will always have bugs and glitches the gameplay is nearly flawless IMO. There isn't one game breaking issue that I have come across in 15. I think the tome has come to where 2k can stop worrying about fixing legacy issues and focus on adding innovative features to the gameplay to keep the series moving forward.

People complained about 2k14 to high heaven, now its better than 15? With players running into eachother on pick and rolls, no local saves, everything tied to online, bad spacing, no freestyle offenses and no extra defensive settings and it was better?


I hope 2k aint listening to this one.

Cpu offenses took a big step forward in 15 compared to 14 and previous versions. There were too many set plays called b4 15, now it's more freeflowing with pick and rolls, pops, isos etc. So ya cuz of that I like 15 better

Unfortunately, you can't modify or save uploaded rosters on the console versions. You'd have to buy 2K14 for PC if you really want updated rosters for the game.

Wait...I saw this youtube video of someone retrieving an official 2K roster file, then disconnecting form the internet - and it shows the file being saved (locally?). So where is it being saved? Because there seems to be some auto-save.
